I do agree that PC gaming is far too expensive and not worth the expense at all.
Which is why I consider the PS3 as the most powerful mass market option for gaming. It is a simple fact that less that 0.5% of gamers can afford a PC capable of playing games at PS3 Exclusive Game Title quality.
They should be lowering these prices to boost PC sales, increasing them is only to price even more people out.
I was under the impression that Blu-Ray hardware was far outstripping DVD's introductory figures... mainly because BD players didn't cost £2,000 for the first year!!!
They were affordable from the get go and that is why the BD discs sales have also outstripped DVD sales during the introductory period.
A PC mag should not be discussing an industry that demands far more respect if they do not have the information at hand.
Despite massive complaints from people about the initial pricing, selling 23 Million units was actually amazing. For what is essentially a 2.5 year old console to sell 1M in 3 weeks is insane!
Well congratulations to Sony, I can see them selling another 1M units over the Christmas Period if not more with the bundle's that will be coming out.

2 - Motorstorm (the fake one)
1 - Killzone 2 (the fake one)
Regardless, most trailers are CGI and not in game, these two are no different in that respect and my god they are the most epic game trailers of all time.
The multiplat games will never rival the PS3 Exclusives, they should just design all the games for PS3 and then dumb it down for Xbox360.
The Playstation 3 has been in the top 5 searches on the www.PCWorld.co.uk site for the last 2 YEARS!!! It just never ever leaves the top 5 searches on that website and PC World is the biggest PC store chain in the UK by far.
More often than not, PS3 will be the No. 1 search and I have only ever seen it once drop that position... to number 2. It went back up a couple of days later.

I agree, I think the main difference between the two games though is that Gran Tourismo 5 will shift about 5 million PS3's off the shelves.
This is probably one of those games alot of PS2 owners are waiting to be released before buyin a PS3.

I don't want to stream the movies, I woulod rather be able to download the movies and watch in my own time. Considering the PS3 has a hard drive, downloading from Netflix is a far better alternative to streaming.

I think we will now see a new X-Wing game.
With Frontier Developments annoucing that a new Elite game is in production, I think we can expect a few space based games arriving.
I may be a little off the mark here, but I think the Studio's wrre awaiting to hear if Braben was going to do it before starting anything themselves. Because it is Elite that will ultimately revive the space game genre.
The 360 price cut that is, however I am not sure how many people actually expected the Microsoft machine to outsell the Sony this generation.
Both are established in the console market but Sony has the richer history. The price was too high and I think we all knew that when Sony started selling cheaper then the numbers would start ramping up.
But either way, this is win-win for all gamers. Cheaper consoles is win!

I was looking forward to seeing the cliched bleeding walls, the demons, hell being let loose and all non-gamers getting a real shock at how much immersion there is... but to replace Hell with a Chromosome?

Why is Game Developers playing games hot news? It is something I expect, I bet the vast majority, if not all, Dev's have a PC, 360 and PS3... possibly even a Wii if they have children.
I would buy them all, they have the money in that job.
I am not a hardcore Folder, but I have completed about 40 work units and have personally spoken to Vijay Pande through emails, hoping to get Sony to advertise this more. Some people think you have to leave it on all night, but there is an option to Shut Down the PS3 after the current work load has been complete.
This is what I have started doing, number crunch a work load, and then the PS3 automatically turns off when it send the result back to the University.
