I don't like these sudden jumps in PC requirements. Don't like it at all.
Looks smoother than on my PC.
If I were you, I'd lay more hopes in Ubisoft actually optimizing CPU code better for AC4.
AC3 was absolutely horrible in that aspect. One of the worst ports in existence.
I was just saying the same thing haha.
Well, fuck.
The thing is, history repeats itself. The i5 3570k has only 4 cores, although they are powerful, they most definitely will get slammed to the floor if a game is 8 threaded. Same thing happened to dual cores vs quad cores years back.
My i5 is already at 100% in BF3 and BF4. It can't really go the distance like before.
Well there goes my i5. It sucks though, I've only got it last year and again, I'm CPU limited. PC gaming is really not worthwhile.
Completely unsatisfactory.
As long as that doesn't include stability issues and potential breakdowns, people will be happier.
Holy fucking cow that i7 is powerful.
Honestly, my i5 3570k is bottlenecking my HD7850 in both BF3 and BF4 I believe, but the performance is a lot better in BF3 for me. BF4 is nearly 50% more of a CPU hog than BF3.
Nothing too unfamiliar to PS3 pirates. God of War 3 has 42GB. MGS4 even more I believe.
I'm curious, which CPU do you have?
I expected it to look worse on consoles. Not bad.
You do realize that even most third party controllers follow Sony's blueprint? There's rarely a controller with X360 stick layouts. Even controllers mimicking X360 controller's shape have symmetrical sticks.
Also, if anyone actually believes one stick layout is better than the other, you're out of your freaking mind. The only thing that's different is the relative position of the dpad to the stick. That's it.
What's more important...
@Twilightx7
I had 6GB until one chip died. Now I have 4. I've talked with other people who play the Beta. Same thing happens to people with 8GB. There you go.
It's beta, it's to be expected, but I'm still underwhelmed (optimization wise, as a game it's absolutely excellent).
Yes I did. I don't know why people disagree, the game is a memory hog. It's unplayable for me with 4GB RAM. Stutters frequently. I have an HD7850 and an i5 3570k. Framerates are relatively ok. I actually had better fps on older drivers but the game is a bit more stable with the new ones.
The game itself is much much better than BF3. It's just a shame that it's that much more demanding/less optimized.
Also expect horrible performance compared to BF3.
Sorry but the reason it dips is because no CPU can sustain 64p in BF3 @ 60fps. It's most definitely not your cards, it's the CPU (or lack of CPU optimization) that's dragging your framerate down.
An API that can help in decreasing CPU utilization is a very welcome thing indeed. As it stands, GPUs are getting far beyond what any reasonably priced CPU can deliver.
The thing that's most interesting about console wars and constant game comparisons is how meaningless they all are in the end. I had a PS3 for good 5 years total. I've play numerous games on it, most of which were multiplats which were "significantly" better on the X360.
Yet, in the end, all these comparisons don't mean crap. When you start playing the game, enjoying it for what it is, all those comparison shots just fade away and you forget the other co...
The PS4 sure peaked my interest getting back into console gaming. I'm still thinking about getting the PS4 or upgrading my PC. Not sure which is more worthwhile.
I'd hold off to see if more games require that upgrade.
Upgrading for Battlefield only is a big, BIG mistake, one I've unfortunately done. I upgraded my entire freaking platform and the game didn't get any more enjoyable, I only could say "Hey, I get 60+ fps and you don't!" to my friends, and that's not a reason to upgrade.
