It's sad to see that a simple number gets people so upset. If you like the game, spend your time playing it instead of ranting. The angst doesn't change anything.
I don't know why people are surprised that GT5 is being nitpicked. After so much hype for so long that it would be the second coming of video games it's no surprise that people are looking for flaws.
I don't know what's worse with this game, the nitpicking or the fellation that goes on as people defend it to the end.
Just play the game and ignore the rabble and it will quickly subside.
So is the moral of the story to be careful what you ask for? People wanted damage, they got it. But damage that you have to pay to repair? Awesome!
Yes, there is a lot on that list that I am excited for. The article is correct.
People sure do love to defend their favorite games, don't they? Can't take even the slightest criticism.
I hope that everyone who has purchased these games is really enjoying them. That's all that really matters.
You forgot to mention the great particle effects!
Wait, we're not talking about graphics.
I did like Ridge Racer 7, though.
I can tell that a lot of people didn't read the article.
Halo wasn't purchased in the form that it was ultimately released in. If you'll remember, Godmars, Halo was first touted by Steve Jobs as a simultaneous Mac and PC release. At the time it was a third-person action game. When Microsoft bought Bungie, the game's engine was re-written and it became a first-person game.
Halo and Gears have not been the only worthwhile first-party IP's ever released by Microsoft. I'm not a fan of either, but I've still had...
Same here. No sale for me if they've changed it. The soundtrack was part of the fun!
I had one RROD 18 months after I got mine. My refurb is still going strong, even if it does sound like a jet engine.
At least Microsoft seems to have better taken care of the problem with later models. That had to be a hard lesson to learn.
Nope. Reading the article is not a prerequisite for forming an opinion and commenting, as understanding the situation might take the edge off of the rage. We can't be having that now can we?
:)
Good, healthy competition. Every developer should strive to create the best product that they can.
It would be nice if a sandbox game could match the performance of a more scripted game like Uncharted. I imagine it's tougher to achieve as much with such a non-linear format.
Japan is the land of handhelds. I don't see why people argue over console sales there.
Hopefully it's a new IP and not yet another sequel. This generation seems to be the generation of the sequel to me.
But exclusives are typically really, really good. So I'm curious to see what it is.
That's a good point. The PS3 is not the thing to buy if you are a highly-discerning cinephile. If you are after the latest and greatest in home theater technology, you buy the latest and greatest and not a 4 year-old video game console.
If you simply want to watch 3D movies in HD then you can do that on your PS3, and apparently that works quite well.
If you want the best home theater experience that money can buy, then the PS3 is not the 3D Blu-ray playe...
Can't wait to get this.
If you enjoyed the first one then $15 for this one is a deal. I would recommend it to fans of the first game.
What exactly is illegal about them? That the article doesn't mention them being officially licensed?
There have been third-party peripherals ever since there have been first-party ones. Some licensed, some not.
What you're actually paying for when you buy a retail game is the right to play it, not the game itself. Read the license. So as a publisher the idea that a retail packaged game is different from a hosted game doesn't exist. From their perspective what you're paying is the license fee to use the software, not to buy the software. Our own perception is different, however.
I imagine that the OnLive license terms also state that you have no relief if you pay for the ...
That was a really good review.
