This boy must really be an orphan, because a parent that cares about their children wouldn't let something like this happen.
Where do they live? Because LBP has been in plentiful supply where I live since day 1. This game was not a sellout.
Resistance 2 came out and that's what everyone in my friends list was playing. The delay hurt the momentum of the game considerably, in my opinion. It's a great game, and over it's life it will do well. But it did not achieve the instant classic status that Sony was hoping for.
I don't regret purchasing it, because it is really good.
I get so sick of hearing people complain about bias.
I think that it's funny to see people claiming that companies like EA are developing on the PS3 as a lead platform because that's where the majority of their profit comes from, yet EA hasn't been profitable all year. You don't have to believe me, but you can believe this:

A net loss of $310 million in the third quarter alone.
My point with all of this is th...
It would seem that the 360 price cut did provide a significant bump in sales in October. But I don't think that it is all about pricing. I think that the Wii's appeal is still largely due to the constant advertising and carry-over hype from the last two years. I constantly see ads for the Wii on TV. They're everywhere. I've started seeing more 360 ads, but I don't see as many PS3 ads.
I really think that Sony needs to do more to move the PS3 into the mainstream position that the...
I'm glad I bought LittleBigPlanet. The story itself is ok, but the level designs are great. Especially if you want to create your own, since they give you good ideas about how to layout and design them.
On the whole, I would say that the majority of the user-created levels aren't all that good. But there is an excellent minority that I continually play over and over again. I'm willing to bet that those who buy the game are going to be glad that they did.
That better-than-DVD adoption rate includes PS3 consoles. Take the PS3 out of the mix and the adoption rate isn't quite as good. But overall it is still doing well.
I'd like to know, too. Wikipedia hasn't been updated with any more than 13 million-seller PS3 games.

I saw this in Target today for $499.99.
Seems like people can argue over anything. People will experience occasional problems with both networks. That's just how it is.
Exactly. Bubbles for common sense.
Nothing is recession-proof. Sales will not be the same as what they would have been if the economy were better. People are not going to be spending as much this year because there are fewer people with jobs and credit is more expensive and harder to get. That doesn't mean that things are going to be catastrophic, but if I have to choose between a PS3 and paying rent, I'm going to pay rent. More people have to make that choice this year.
Japan isn't really a deciding factor between the PS3 and 360 these days, anyway. Handheld gaming is clearly the focus there when you look at how many more consoles are shifted in North America and Europe.
Japan doesn't decide the outcome any more. It hasn't for a decade.
Microsoft is saying that the 360 is nearing 25 million sold.

But is the 360 really competing with the PSP for sales? Others may not agree, but handheld gaming isn't quite the same as console gaming. If it were then people would be crowing about how Nintendo shifted nearly 1.3 million units in October.
I think that the bigger picture concern is that as long as Sony offers the PS2 as a viable alternative to the PS3 we're going to see current generation adoption suffer. The PS3 has done remarkably well, but it hasn't sold as well as the PS2 i...
Shouldn't be many because Microsoft fixes them for free when they RROD. At least for a little while longer, anyway. The first batch should be coming out from under that 3 year umbrella any time now.
Got news for you. At $400 it's still a toy. It's just a very expensive one.
I wonder if the average consumer really understands what LittleBigPlanet is really about? I was excited about it because I could make my own levels, but I haven't really seen that played up in the TV spots I've seen.
It's only a matter of time. Blu-ray burners are dropping in price and there's yet to be DRM that couldn't be defeated.
