They don't need to compete with home consoles. I don't think they intended to. How does it stack up to other portables? It's seems that those are good numbers and they have a big piece of that market. You don't need to outsell the competition to be successful. Bmw doesn't outsell GM but they're doing just fine.
If that's the case then explain why Sony is dipping into the gaas model. And whay are so.e of their ps4 games only available through a subscription?
It may be true for some that the reason they didn't want Microsoft aquireing a lot of studios. But not all. There are some that want to see them fail at everything because it's not their preferred gaming platform. That's really what it's about.
