Same here. I'm enjoying the story. I want to see what happens when Nemesis arrives.
Don't reply to the alt troll account. It's best to ignore him until the account gets shut down.
Hopefully that was a joke about jail time. It's hard to tell these days.
I swear these execs are getting together trying to new ways to ruin good IPs. Fans would literallly throw money at a console release but these publishers seem to not want that.
Same here. That was going to be the game I'd buy a Xbox One for back in the day. It'd be good if they did revive it and improve on what they had at the time.
This is why I wait to buy the vast majority of games. It's usually worth it to wait for a 'complete' edition since day one seems to equate to 'early access' these days.
The only time that I would ever preorder a game is if some exclusive preorder content was included in the preorder, and the price was still the same as me buying the game day one. If you were already going to buy the game for $69.99 (for example) on day one, and you could get some extra cosmetics/content just for buying the preorder a few days earlier, why wouldn’t you?
I rock both the Switch Axe (1st) and Charge Blade (2nd) too. I love when I get into a party where everyone has different weapons. It’s like a symphony of savagery.
It's easy to say something was a 'showpiece epic' when it'll never see the light of day.
Even Bobby Kotick called them out for their lack of (void of) creativity, but they shut him up with a fat check lol.
I haven't started Edge of Eternity yet on my PS5 because I was waiting for the New Beginnings update. It was supposedly promised for consoles after landing on PC but they left us out in the wind. I'm surprised that they are announcing this new game as I thought they disappeared into the ether. I hope they fully support consoles this time around and don't half-ass it like they did with the first game.
Yup, get to try it out for myself sooner rather than later without having to 'buy' it. It's really telling that this next DA game has been shifted to PS Plus so soon after its release but I'm still willing to give it a go after the lackluster reviews.
Your journey sounds a lot like mine. My first console was Atari 2600 when I was 7. Then I got a ColecoVision, Commodore 64, TurboGrafx, Sega Genesis, Sega Saturn. What's funny is that I originally was not interested in the Playstation when it first came out. I had a Nintendo 64 after my Sega Saturn, skipping over the Playstation. It wasn't until Final Fantasy VII was released that I suddenly wanted a Playstation and finally realized on what I was missing out on.
Don't forget that PS also gets a cut from those games sold on their console. As if they were getting the short end of the stick or something. Revenue through minimal effort seems like a win-win.
Especially for games that would have normally been going to PS anyway. I guess MS paid $70B just to take over the third-party publishing duties. Not a bad way to concede the 'console war" though as they will still be making money. They should probably change their division name to XGames Publishing or something.
"I think it would benefit them to bring more games to xbox as well. That would be a win for them because they keep their install base, sell more games and make more money which is the bottom line for all business."
Nah, the fundamental difference that many are conveniently ignoring is that Sony is a hardware/electronics manufacturer, unlike MS. Sony is fully invested in pushing hardware and you need exclusive games for your console in order to entice people into b...
Taking a page out of someone else's book who likes to say that Playstations are now Xboxes just because Xbox 1st party games are available on PS. So I guess this means that now Xbox showcases are now PS showcases, huh?
"“From my experience, when studios see the company has a big initiative, they understand riding on that gives them a better chance of getting a project approved and supported.”
Hmm, interesting. That makes sense from a studio viewpoint. If you know that Papa Sony is looking for more live service games, then you may be likely to pitch a LS game to them in order to get it funded. The studios main concern is keeping their lights on and their employees paid. Too bad that ...
"We definitely dropped the ball from a publishing standpoint, including studio management side. We were not able to see the value of the product we were making"
With age and time, comes wisdom (usually, hopefully). Glad that he is wise enough to recognize his early mistake(s). Now only if the current leadership would realize their shortsightedness and work with From to get Bloodborne back on the dev block.
Or they’re still waiting for it to get good after a few hundred hours.
