They’re trying anything to remain relevant going into the next gen. We’ll see how this turns out for them.

Well, I don't know how much they 'love' GaaS, but they like GTA Online twice as much as PC/Xbox gamers it seems.

Yep, out of all the 200 MILLION PS4 and PS5 owners, absolutely none of them, I mean like zero, like GaaS.
So this news definitely can't be true I guess.

I was one of those who bought the Pro as soon as I saw the price hike announcement. I was always planning to get one but wasn’t about to pay $150 more for it.

It’s still in the box though. I’ll pull it out whenever I get around to buying Crimson Desert.

Nah, I never said first-party was enough. I said it’s the ‘best way’ to drive gamers to your platform. 3rd-party is a free-for-all and there’s no guarantee that gamers will use your hardware to play the game. If you want to push your own software and/or hardware you need first-party, or at least exclusive deals with third-party studios.

I think almost everyone will agree that a monopoly is not good for the industry. But that being said, the competition needs to be smart and strategic with their business. Simply buying up publishers and traditional third-party studios just to keep them out of the other companies reach is not a sustainable practice. That goes for all parties so don't think I'm just referring to Xbox.

I'm no business guru by any stretch of the imagination but I firmly believe th...

I think it has more to do with the high price of games these days. It’s more likely that more gamers are going to spend their $80 on GTAIV when it comes out and aren’t really going to be looking to pay full price for another game within the same window.

Out of 92 million PS5's sold, there's bound to be a few PS5 gamers here and there that wanted to try it out, even at retail price. I guess they couldn't wait for the eventual price drop for some reason. I'm waiting for it to get patches, improvements, and a complete edition at bargain bin prices. Maybe then I'll give it a try. A lot more better games out there to be played in the meantime.

How do the sayings go?

“A fool and his money are soon parted”

“Buyer beware”

“Don’t buy Bugthesda games until they’ve been thoroughly patched up and significantly reduced in price”

Great news. I look forward to playing this game. My PS5 Pro is still in the box but I'll get it out when I eventually pick up this game. Glad that the devs are listening to players feedback and continuing to make improvements on this game. The biggest compliant that I've heard was about the game controls so its cool they they will give options to configure controls to player preference.

I do wish they'd release this for PS5 Pro at the very least. I've been craving a good realistic space exploration game since Frontier Developments stopped supporting ongoing updates for Elite Dangerous on consoles. I put a ton of hours into that game and then they just stopped console support when the Odyssey update came out. Pissed me off LOL. I guess I'll get back into No Man's Sky for the time being since there's a bunch of new stuff since I've last played.

Still quite a long way to go for me to get onboard with buying this.
Bottom line: more bug fixes (there's always more bugs to fix), more QoL improvements, less loading screens, and more game content eventually culminating in a 'complete' edition.

On a positive note, I think the Free Lanes update is a huge improvement (in my mind lol) and brings this game more in line with what a space exploring game should be. If they would expand on that and allow for...

Another step closer to finally getting me to buy the game. Just need some more fixes, improvements, and a bigger price drop for the premium edition. They've already announced no more major DLC expansions but I'm still taking a wait-and-see approach.

Yeah, I would think they'd want more people to buy PS5 consoles (plus the games) rather than simply playing the games on a rival console.

Exactly! Don’t ever reply to any of his posts. It’s all gonna get flagged as spam. Don’t waste your time and keystrokes.

So you think the entire electronics and computer industry is going along with Sony's 'cover story' in a bid to raise prices across the board. Sony got everyone else to raise their prices first in order to get consumers ready for the eventual PlayStation price hikes?

26d ago 9 agree0 disagreeView comment

I just got mine when they announced the price increase. I was always planning to get one though. I just didn't want to pay $150 more than what it is now.

26d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

I’m interested to see if they’ve shortened loading screens at all. I’m sure someone will do some type of analysis on that.

Already ordered my Pro. I was always planning on getting one but this just sped up my timeline.
