I still haven't go this game yet but it's good to know that I'll play a much-improved version whenever I get around to it. A lot of people loved the game before so I imagine it'll be an even better experience now (and in the future).

They didn't actually 'force' their studios, per se, but the initiative was certainly there.

"I don’t think the GaaS overall was a bad idea they’ve seen the success of others, however, forcing all your studios to focus on it was absolutely insane."

What's more interesting is that SIE was not actually 'forcing' their studios to make GaaS games. I have to find the article again but it was explained that these studios knew about Jim's plans for GaaS games and typically pitched those types of games to SIE because they would have a better chanc...

I seriously wonder who makes these types of decisions. Days Gone was a solid game. It didn't get that much love at first but people eventually saw the diamond in the rough. The ending basically guaranteed a sequel, but someone said "nope, let's pitch a LS game instead". And the yes-men were all "Great idea, sir!!"

We are seeing the effect of the necessary course correction but, unfortunately, it's impacting the non-executive workforce more than the execs. I, personally, would not want to play fast and loose with people's livelihoods. While it's true that even single-player IPs get cancelled from time to time, those games seem like they may be more stable development projects than chasing elusive live-service success.

You and many other sane gamers 😆

Problem solved. Xbox and PS games tend to drop in price very quickly over time. Don't be in a rush to buy the game at launch, and you can usually get a much improved (patched) version of the game for cheaper when it goes on sale months later.

I would love to see Lost Odyssey come over to PS5. I would definitely buy that again. That was the first game that I played on my 360. Loved the story and battle system. One of the best JRPGs of all time in my opinion.

I appreciate devs not necessarily catering games to all age demographics just to chase the dollars.. As an older gamer, although I love all games, I really love mature-themed storylines and gameplay in these types of open-world games.

Yeah, I chuckle at the people comparing two ‘showcases’ full of multiplats. It’s basically a showcase for all gamers, with the occasional exclusive sprinkled in. 😄

I’m sure Xbox gamers are also looking forward to FFVII Remake dropping this fall/winter, probably more so than FFXVI.

“No doubt, but.... the current price is out of the realm of the average parent / kid to buy like the SW1 was. So this launch achievement is from those of us with more disposable income.”

It could also be many people rushing to buy to avoid any possible tariff hikes in the future, but I think it’s still a good sign that many people still want physical consoles. Congrats to Nintendo! I’m not getting one at this time though (unless I get it for a Xmas present for one of my ki...

Exactly. Even though I have 'faith' in Naughty Dog, I don't ever want to assume that I'm going to love every game that they release. Looking forward to hearing / seeing more about this game.

Nothing that catches my eye personally, but I will add them all to my library nonetheless 🙂

Great news! I love when devs keep proving that single-player, non-live service games can still generate huge sales when done right.

Gamers are going to get excited about gaming news 🤷🏽‍♂️. Go figure.

To be clear, what are you referring to when you say 'specialized'? Just wanted to know if you had a different take on these controller and system deals.

Deals on PS5 console offerings include:

In the United States and Canada, PlayStation 5 console – Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Bundle (Digital and Standard) will be available starting at $399.99 USD / $509.99 CAD (Save up to $119.99 USD / $159.99 CAD compared to buying separately).

Same here. I’ll focus on a game that I really enjoy and get the most out of it before moving onto the next title. That is why I have a massive backlog of games now.

Definitely worth it if you’re a day one purchaser of games, and like to zip through them one after the other. I don’t have that much time these days to spend playing games so I will usually wait until they are on sale for 40% or more. I also don’t play through them quickly hence the reason for my huge backlog.

As far as I'm aware, the only 'deal' that was discussed was for Call of Duty. Xbox had no obligation to make any of their other games multiplatform. They did that of their own accord.
