Same. I'm still not sure what about their E3 that everyone is so enamored with but to each their own. We still don't know what the hell Starfield is. Halo MP looked...OK I guess. Flight Simulator is pretty but my God ZZZZzzzzzzz. Forza Horizon looked really good and I would play that but aside from that, everything they have revealed that remotely interests me is still YEARS away. By 2023 the XSX might be worth getting but NOW? Ha! No way.
Still too premature to say this until they prove that they can provide a consistent flow of high quality exclusives.
Is it? I didn't think it was all that mind-blowing to be honest with you. It just basically looked like Fallout in a space setting.
This is also a cross-gen game. It's coming to PS4 as well. This is not a designed from the ground up next gen game.
I agree. I think the State of Play format works better when it focuses on one title and gives us a nice deep dive on that title. This worked so well for TLOU2, GOT, R&C:ARA, and HFW.
Have PSX twice a year I say. One in January that focuses on titles we'll be playing in the coming year and one in July that focuses on the long term "road map" games we'll be playing the following year and beyond.
Worst one since those couple of years when they decided to make it strictly a corporate event (I forgot the years).
IMO nobody "won" E3 this year. It was just degrees of suck. MS and Nintendo sucked less than everyone else. A dubious honor as there ever has been.
I already know the one thing I needed to know. 60.00 for a 2D Metroid game in 2021, sorry but no.
It is. They simply cannot get into a bidding war over studios with MS. MS will win a war of attrition every time. Sonys strategy of forming partnerships with these talented upstart studios along with established 3rd party developers is smart.
Exciting? No. It was certainly full of...stuff. But other than Forza nothing looked next gen to me. They're still not hitting the mark in terms of those epic "wow" moments.
Ok that was funny!
"LGBT"
I think they've added 3 or 4 more letters to this now. LOL.
CPU's in 2021 smartwatches are way more advanced than the Tegra X1. The Switch Pro is rumored to have an overclocked version of the same CPU. Even overclocked it's not going to push games to 4K/60. Plus what games on freaking smart watches are really pushing graphics anyway?
@Ashunderfire86
It's already pretty much known what tech is going in the Switch Pro. It's going to be using an overclocked Tegra X1 chip. Even with NVIDIA'S DLSS upscaling, there's no way it's going to hit 4K/60 in any consistently meaningful way. BOTW 2 might hit 4K (upscaled) 30fps but hoping for 60fps on a game like that is a pipe dream.
LOL you're dreaming if you think a Switch Pro is going to pull off 4K/60 outside of anything but maybe Minecraft or 2D side scrollers. 4K/30, maybe. But you can forget 4K/60 until maybe Switch 2 or whatever Nintendo calls their next gen console.
I have a feeling we will be seeing it soon. I'm very much looking forward to it along with Kena, SIFU, and Stray.
I must say, I like the way Sony is curating their indie offerings now. All of these newer indie titles being released that Sony is featuring have a certain level of quality and production value that I personally like to see. For a while there, the indie scene was such a glut of cheap looking 8-bit pixel art and side scrollers. Nothing wrong with those inherently but for every decent one there seemed to be 10 cheap copycats. I don't want the PS Store to become like the Google Play Stor...
These are the kinds of indies that interests me. I'm sick of all the 8bit pixel junk.
Meh
You cant remove what was never there.
