Or just use skype/mumble/ventrillo/teamspe ak on a PC and boom you're done.
No need to pay $60/yr for a free feature.
On a side note they really need to do something about this "agree/disagree" system going on.
With the 3 of us just discussing on this, everyone else is just plugging away at the numbers below us.
It seems like people are just using it more as a cop out instead of actually discussing how they feel. =|
@Robearboy
Except here lies in the problem. People overblowing this WAY out of sheer proportion.
It's how fedeaxas stated earlier, about people acting as if they had a family member killed from all this.
I went through with SECU when the whole info hack happened with them which was just as bad cause thousands were affected. Did not see a single person demanding blood out of the vast number of people that had to be informed about it.
"I trust the NY Times not to host fake information."
The irony of that is in a paragraph later on in the blog:
"Although Sony says it doesn’t have evidence that customers’ credit card numbers were stolen, on Thursday I reported that hackers on underground Web forums had claimed to have access to a database that included PlayStation customer names, addresses, usernames, passwords and as many as 2.2 million credit card numbers."
I was happy until it said F2P. Generally it does not go well for those situations, especially with the nickel and dime microtransactions that 9 times out of 10 unbalances a game, though those having more money just plowing their way into the game.
I understand what you meant about the non-US authorities, but considering the massive level this is on, this can be considered an international crime, and I wouldn't be surprised if they did net them. Basically at the level it's at, they'll find a way to oust them one way or another.
Location isn't just going to hide them.
What that means is that if there's even a handful of people affected in the country they reside, they won't be out of the reach of the law, because they can be applied. Think about it.
"Sony has lost the trust of the public. They need to pay"
I'd rather believe my bank first before unannounced sources of random people online crying fraud.
So far it's really just been N4G community on this tirade of a desire-to-hate train. The problem being, is that for most of them, they're just frothing at the mouth, instead of using their heads.
The funny thing about all this? The people that live in Taipei are more ...
"Sadly you are correct about the hackers being gone, most probably don't even reside in North America"
This breach affects worldwide usage.
"Face it, PSNA developers are gonna jump ship now, simply because Sony has had to admit how few paying customers PSN has, while XBLA has 40 million+ paying customers. "
There's a difference between voluntarily paying and forced to pay.
"Does their server work 24/7 except for scheduled maintenance? Damn straight it does. "
I swear to god I'm getting sick of people just touting that when I was one of those people back in '07 that couldn't connect onto Live for about 14 days cause of the sheer overload that happened of new people connecting.
TECHNOLOGY IS NOT PERFECT!
I mean it was bad enough with the article spam of broken consoles, piracy, etc. People a...
The funny thing about that though Raven, is during around the time in public, I'm listening and participating in some conversations about the situation with PSN, and people in the public are more pissed at the robber than the victim, or in this case pissed more so at the hacker than Sony. Yea they're still annoyed at that the service is down.
It's the whole cause and effect situation. They see the hacker as the cause and the effect was PSN being down.
@DRIIV
At the temp you brew coffee, it's going to burn you regardless.
According to those that knee-jerk disagreed, they need dictionaries.
"one keeps in touch with their customers and is secure, one isn't"
Sure as hell didn't keep in touch when my 1st batch system console went down, until AFTER the lawsuit. >_>
Now i'm waiting to see people knee-jerk as to which company I speak of.
Tbh I remember one story that happened similar like that. =\
Man, nice play on words throughout the article. XD
@Max_Dissatisfaction
How about contributing on the whole situation instead of instigating?
You realize that it's phishing, not hacking right?
Phishing is all about waiting in a timely manner for someone to take the bait, while hacking is them ALREADY taking the direct action. >_>
"Basic psychology, basic business, basic statistics, basic inductive reasoning, basic knowledge: a poll with an uncontrolled, weak sample is not indicative of an accurate conclusion. "
This is what I've told people for years when a poll is generally taken on anything.
It's like how those "research" articles a while back took their findings on the whole gaming front in terms of behavior and mental capacity.
