@Eamon & blackbeld
You guys must have forgotten the part where he THREATENED the company by saying if they went after him he'd release his stuff to the public.
"Hate to say it but I think they are going to do a "super" version next year. "
I'm really thinking that too. There was a person on the inside that kinda hinted at this.
" I really don't think even more functionality can hurt much, just as long as they keep giving me my games."
It doesn't, but at the same time companies have knack to shift their focus whenever they want, which could potentially hurt.
They were the ones that paid to make it exclusive...not to translate over to the US.
It's dragging away FROM gaming, which is the issue it points at. Evil? No
But connect the pieces. With Windows 8 having Live intertwined within the OS, you start to see this turning places.
@kutocer
At the time of release you needed it cause that was the way to also have the editor files installed. I dunno about how it was now though.
What i mentioned as far as compatibility, was that for most on the UT3 official boards, there were little things that had compatibility issues when being built. I had a few issues when making mods also when it came to porting it over. Sure I had to do a bit extra, but still.
User mods are possible ...
There was a big drawback to that. Someone had to own it on PC in order to make mods themselves to port to PS3.
You also had to do a conversion, so it wasn't the simple method as to putting the mod on PC. You had to make sure it was compatible on console despite converting the files.
@callmedom94
You do realize that "holding steady" function was done before people got onto this Call of Duty craze.
They also had the function in BF 2142, so this isn't exactly new.
Before people jump the gun:
"Q: What about simply transporting PC mods onto consoles?
A: It actually works. If you have a devkit console you can take the PC mod files, put them on your Xbox and they work. They actually worked in Oblivion, Morrowind and Fallout 3."
BUT if you look at the question before that, he states that as far as many issues are concerned, it won't be on consoles at time or release vs how the PC version will ...
I know that, but you're better off actually going TO Justin.tv than just going through a reference, which links to another reference.
@ElementX
Check out the MadWorld OST. I'm not a huge fan of rap, but that soundtrack is enjoyable to be honest.
Guys don't give these types of submissions anymore hits.
They just took this video from a caster named Ecokichi on Justin.tv.
I was there when it was being played. All they did was linked to the archived video. I swear the submissions on this site baffle me as to how they can take info from others to use "as their own".
"Take this upcoming Limited Edition for example..$59.99 for the same game, with First Strike DLC with it.. why not Escalation or Annihilation too Activision? "
C'mon...do you REALLY have to ask them that. :p
On a side note, Annihilation I can understand since it's fairly recent, but they could have thrown in Escalation.
@meganick
By that logic any smartphone provider is into gaming too.
Explain to me why that statement on a Sony platform was necessary?
FF11 is done by SE's own servers.
Well the thing that gets me, is that people are like "Why should that matter" when it comes to devs sticking with the roots of where they were.
The funny thing is that there's people out there that shun PC gaming, yet it's the groundstone for games being made, tested, etc.
What's funny though is that it annoys me out 1/2 the comments on this site about PC gaming are from ignorance of information.
How many of you here ACTUALLY played the Witcher series, and not just throwing half-hearted words just because it's coming to consoles and will just use it as a listing for games?
Cause judging from the comments here, people would just lose it if something like Guild Wars for example somehow made it to consoles.
@thewhoopimen
It's not the apple devs, it's those that they allow onto the app store.
I'm talking about Apple as a whole in the sales department too, how they play the numbers game fiercely. Comparing a $0.99 app to a $50-60 game and calling it as if it's the same form of quality, when people get that same form of .99 entertainment for free from Flash Sites.
Thing is, if they expect them to be on top, then they need a lot mor...
@Vegivo
They deny a lot of things then "BAM". :p
