"When PC gamers host dedicated servers, is there a cost associated with it? "
Depending on the situation....yes.
I like how people randomly disagreed with that, when you can just go to any GS store and check it yourself.
Companies adapt. They don't sit around doing nothing against something that affects them.
The funny thing though that I didn't mention:
This doesn't matter to the used sale companies either.
Here's one example: Mortal Kombat.
You have the Pass which is required to have to play online. Well instead of having the game to you and paying extra, what places like Gamestop does for example is when you buy the game, they just print off a pass-code for you on the receipt.
So honestly, this really doesn't af...
The thing that gets me is that they're trying to play a "guilt" trip on that twitter statement.
On topic, honestly I don't mind the whole Pass thing if it's done right.
"Maria... You probably should have just kept that to yourself! I guarantee you just lost respect points with some gamers on here! "
People had respect for others on this site? This is new to me. :p
This reminds me of the incident with Brutal Legend and Activision suing them when they switched to EA.
This isn't the time nor place to start with that business....
This is News 4 Gamers. Don't add to what is already something that shouldn't be here.
@buttclown
I actually develop and work on the consoles, along with the SDKs and Development Kits, so I can actually back up to what I say.
A lot of the times when people say this stuff out to the public, people throw it WAY out of proportion. People think that when someone says they tapped out the power of the system, ANOTHER company shows them up, and then says THEY tapped it out.
I'm surprised none of you have caught this within the pa...
I like how 2 of the people above are apparently ignoring this studio, when they brought The World Ends With You to us. >_>
"Bout time they're the ones being the victims of theft... "
And yet it doesn't matter to them, but to the employees as far as you know they can be traumatized.
Tired of people joking around thinking robberies are funny or needed when it happens to others that shouldn't deserve it.
@buttclown
You mean the same ones that say they know what's best for you with the Passes and "cut-content"?
It's funny cause they feed you one thing and people are ok with it. Feed you with another and then people don't believe it.
The irony in what you say buttclown as far as blind faith, is the same for you having flat out acceptance in what they say.
@Pandamobile
At the same time though, can you blame the consumer for trying to make their money last in the long run?
I mean they have the ability to drop the price down, or have sales like on Steam, so why do they expect people to drop $60 and not have complaints?
On a side note I do agree with what you're saying Pandamobile, but at the same time there's a reason why people buy stuff cheaper. It isn't just for kicks.
There's an update coming out in the fall for the PS3 and Wii versions, which will make the game Sengoku Basara 3 En.
You know that message about the unauthorized intrusion has been there for the past couple of weeks right?
The franchise was LONG dead before the actual release of DNF
The 10+ years of waiting was KIND OF the reason than the state of the game.....
I passed on Socom 4 actually. I didn't mind the beta and it wasn't bad, it's just that I wish it had more improvements on the overall scale.
Only Pass thing i can think of outside that online crap, is a DLC Pass, where you get the DLC bundled slightly cheaper than normal.
@NMC2007
Some of us here had the game before Gears came out.
You know the funny thing about some of the fanatics around here going off on graphics, not many, if at all mentioned Crysis 2 or Battlefield 3.
I dunno why, but I was laughing and thinking the same thing when i read the headliner.
