Or... The publishers can say Sony has 37.7 million PS4s out there, we are definitely going to make games for the console with that kind of a lead in install base. Basically making it that much harder for Microsoft to buy 3rd party exclusives like Titanfall. So in that sense the sales figures would effect how the publishers handle third party games.

While you're at it, let's ignore the fact that Microsoft launched in all their major markets. Let's ignore the fact that the countries they did not launch in, did not really buy their previous console, so why chance wasting stock inmarkets they are unsure about when they can focus on the only markets they are somewhat relevant in. Seems whether they launched in more countries or not is inconsequential to their total sales. Actually, it may have had a n...

A.I., bot, whatever you want to call them... The point is they are not human. That seems to be the gripe people are having. Worst case scenario they are either OP or bullet sponges (both of which are not fair or fun IMO)... Best case scenario they play like human players, which lends itself to the point people a trying to make, why not just make more human players instead (even optional). If they felt 6v6 is the sweet spot, why make almost triple the amoun...

All those players giving the game praise, how long did they play for? Its not out of the realm of possibility that a game be extremely fun in a controlled enviornment where people are only allowed to play a certain amount of games within a designated time frame. Can any of these people that praise the game say they have played long enough to speak to its longevity? How long until playing against bots become repetitive and stale? To me, the whole point of competitive ...

The Xbox One was released in Microsoft's strongest markets. Releasing in other markets is not going to make as much of a difference you are trying to insinuate. There are still many Xbox Ones on shelves in the US (their strongest market), what you think would be the case if they were released in Microsofts weaker markets? Both console had amazing launches, but the Xbox Ones demand is beginning to wane (evident by stock beginning to remain on shelves for long...
@ Melman
First you try and knock the PS4 being pitched as a gamers console despite not having many games... then you overlook the XB1 being advertised as an all-in-one device despite needing a cable box plugged in to utilize TV integration (all-in-one devices are meant to be standalone).
Then you go on to say how you spent so much time configuring your Xbox One and it feels futuristic because you can talk to it and it can recognize you. It took me all but 10 ...
If they expect $60 for a MP only game, it better have a ton of content at launch (maps, weapons, attachments, etc). Either that, or no season passes where future DLC is free. Its absurd to pay $60 for 8 small maps and then have to shell out $15 per DLC for 4 more maps and no weapons.

Those are variables. I can bring similar benefits to console gaming.
You mention price of games, but have failed to consider the benefit of console games. For one, with PS+ you can play many great games for one cost. This year alone I had access to Dragons Dogma Dark Arisen, Sleeping Dogs, Hitman Absolution, Binary Domain, Kingdom of Amular, Grid 2, Borderlands 2, Far Cry 3, NFS Most Wanted, plus more multiplats and indies, for the price of PS+ ($50...

What are the hidden costs of buying a console? You pay $399 for a PS4 (or whatever the cost is in an applicable country), and that's enough for you to play games. Everything else is optional.
As far as building a PC. You need a case, HDD, RAM, power supply, CPU, GPU, Motherboard, Kb/m and/or controller, and an OS. All of which has to be purchased (whether all at once or separate). Building a bare minimum PC with all the parts necessary to play n...
@Darth
Do you have a PS3? I ask because Sony has been offering Day 1 digital downloads for a while now. There interest in digital content has not changed their stance of physical media. They already offer the option of both so that the consumer can weigh the pros and cons and decide for themselves. Any PS3 owner would have been aware of this.
You're able to see the textures through all the crushed black? Impressive.
@ Stiggs
Kind of like how Microsoft pays for third party exclusives so that Sony does not get the game (even if timed), rather than investing money in more in house titles? It seems they are more concerned with preventing Sony from getting a game, then Xbox gamers getting an extra game. It also seems that many Xbox gamers get satisfaction from Sony gamers not being able to play these games, if even temporary.
Ok, 900p/30fps. The point is, if Xbox One launch exclusives are using cloud computing, it's not helping much (if at all). If they are not, then why expect multiplatform developers to utilize cloud compute?
Are Xbox One Launch exclusives even using cloud compute? If so, what kind of benefits does it bring if Ryse and Dead Rising 3 are both running at 720p at 30fps, andForza 5 is running at 1080p at 60fps but with little technical demand?
It's funny that some of the people here are implying the PS4 is holding the Xbox One back when Xbox One exclusives aren't even using cloud computing (unless they are, and the benefits are trivial).
@unholy
You can't imagine a month of downtime for your friends? Just ask the numerous gamers that had to go up to a month without their console while it was being repaired for RRoD. Nice stealth troll, but Im sure people would rather take a month of downtime on multiplayer in one instance (still can play single player games) than a month of downtime completely on numerous occassions (no console=no single player or multiplayer).
It's kind of like how the Xbox One is finally going to catch up to what PS3 gamers have been doing... Day 1 digital downloads and dedicated servers.
@ Death
Yeah... Except they did not lie through their teeth and say "the feature is built into the console and cannot be removed with the flick of a switch." They just flicked the switch. Simple. I don't know about you but I tend to be more lenient when I am not lied to and tried to make a fool of.
The Nintendo 64 controller did not have an analog stick, it was a digital stick that offered near analog precision... But not analog. The rumble pack was an add on via the expansion port, where as the Dual shock had the rumble motors built in. They were released within 7 months of each other so chances are they have been in R&D around the same time... Only difference is that Sony had the foresight to have built in rumble, not an add on that required batteries.
So no, Sony...
