The worst type of fanboy for me is the type that will come to, say, a Wii U article and troll it, despite having no need or connection to the story.
Nintendo fans don't do much trolling, they're just kinda there to defend against the trolls. (IMO, I know that there are some Nintendo fans that do troll).
I like a fan who can appreciate the other consoles and their games, even if it's not their preferred console. If they can at least hold back on the trollin...

I think it's too early for us to start thinking about the next generation, but the companies themselves are definitely already working on them, they take a long time to make, and the R&D has almost definitely started development by now.
Yeah, you will have to boot up your Wii U. Just like you had to boot up your PS4 for Infamous, or how you have to boot up an Xbox to play Halo.
They're either porting it (and making sure that there are absolutely no kinks at all), or using it to pad out the releases in the future, they want a steady stream, not a massive wave of them followed by nothing for a long time.
Who knows what they're doing, but I'll probably end up getting it. It was a great game, and holds up well today.

And, as an old Nintendo fan, I was used to getting exactly what I saw in trailers, sometimes better.
Nintendo's doomed? Yeah right. If anything, others that are closing studios are "doomed".
I actually really like my Wii U, it's really underrated, and I think you definitely have to own it before you realise just how great it is. Sure, just playing it does help, but it doesn't quite set in how great the console is until you own one yourself.
Some parts definitely look downgraded (like that car jump, the car model was just eww), but other parts are hard to compare. The 2012 demo was night, and raining, meaning it could really show off the lighting, but the new footage they've shown has been mainly day time and clear sky. It's just too difficult to compare right now. Maybe it has been downgraded, maybe it hasn't. We'll see when we get more comparable footage.
I can't see Microsoft blowing out, but they could definitely just decide to stop making Xbox's, after all, they're not making money from them. And as a company, making money is all they're concerned with.
