Yeah.... it would be nice if the studios did a good job with the movies. So far the best we've gotten is.... resident Evil was okay, and Prince of Persia was decent, but I haven't seen a really good movie based on a game.
I'm going to add to this list: Assassin's Creed, Uncharted, Mirror's Edge, and Wipeout.
And Call of Duty is probably inevitable.
It's 4,294,967,295..... so $53,687,091.19.
Yes that's 53 million dollars. Because it's four BILLION points. Author needs to brush up on his numbers.
Edit: he fixed the title. Now he just needs to fix it here on N4G.
It's 4,294,967,295.....
Four BILLION two hundred and ninety four million nine hundred and sixty seven thousand two hundred and ninety five points. This works out to $53,687,091.19. That's fifty three million six hundred and eighty seven thousand and ninety one dollars, and nineteen cents.
The BF3 beta might be nice, but it's not worth 53 million dollars.
Anyway: BILLION not million. Author is a moron.
Update: the title got fixed. On the ar...
I would give Nintendo credit, but so many others have said that already.
There's too much of a focus on hardware, what about the software people?
Id software for the FPS. Capcom made fighting games what they are today with Street Fighter 2. Shenmue's devs for giving us sandbox games. I can't leave out Media Molecule for putting UGC on consoles. And then there are all the studios who gave us some of gaming's biggest icons. MegaMan, Mario, Zelda, Lara Croft, So...
My very first submission to this site was a history of video games, and it confirms what you're saying. When the deal between Nintendo and Sony fell apart, Sony produced a standalone console.
While I have to agree with you that Activision is milking CoD, there are two different studios tasked with development. Treyarch is no doubt working on CoD 2012 right now. Sometime before year's end, Infinity Ward will get started on CoD 2013. So, in the end, CoD games are in development for two years. I imagine a lot of annual releases are like this.
While I'm no fan of CoD, I have to admit I like the idea of IW beefing up security, making the game less vulnerable to hackers ...
Don't listen to kneon. He's clearly a citrus fanboy.
I had to send my 40gb for repairs. It wasn't an overheating issue, so I was able to back up the saves that mattered. And, two weeks later, I received another 40gb PS3, good as new. This is the cool part: Sony had the system for three days. The rest of it was FedEx.
You can't go wrong sending it to be repaired. Call Sony and they'll give you all the details.
I hope I don't sound like a fanboy. I was just really impressed with how they handled my probl...
Where do I start?
1. Figuring out the difference between sell and sale will lend a bit to your credibility.
2. While they're not mutually exclusive, popularity and quality are two different things.
3. Only a biased fanboy presents his personal opinion as set in stone fact.
4. A proper understanding of the word "generation" would be helpful. Half the games on your list didn't originate on the 360, they we...
While the poison blade obviously wasn't as useful as the hidden blade or the crossbow, it did come in handy for me a few times. If I had to choose a useless item for Ezio's inventory, it would have to be the throwing knives. Between the pistol and the crossbow, I never used them.
Screw bias. Most journalists of all sorts are biased. I just want some writers who can spell.
Might just be wishful thinking but maybe it's LBP3?
Now I'm having visions of LBP:MW3. Or Super LBP Turbo. Or Tiger Madden LBP 2013.
PLEASE GOD MAKE IT STOP!!1!1!one!1!
Does the User review have to be a new release? Or would a review of Kinetica be eligible?
Don't actually own that game, just being hyperbolic.
No worries. I win VERY rarely. Come to think of it, I'm about due for a win. Let's go look at the sept details.
I just read your winning blog. Very well written, you obviously put a lot of thought into it.
Have fun with that Gamefly subscription. You earned it. :)
Now I want to win something.
I got both of you beat: the Trail of Corpses trophy in Prototype requires 53,596 kills. Needless to say, I haven't bothered to get it.
@REALgamer
You do realize that if MICROSOFT publishes a game it won't be on SONY'S console, right? I mean, if you don't know that, then you have no business calling yourself a "real" gamer. Do you?
Get back to me when you've expanded your knowledge base, Mme Curie.
I haven't bought a Capcom game since Super Street Fighter 2. They can liquidate and I wouldn't notice. The way they're milking their customers now, they probably should.
It's not just the cast, it's the popularity of the franchise. Honestly, I'm not a fan of CoD, but it IS wildly popular. A movie would make someone some serious money. From that perspective, it makes sense.
I think I'll add Mass Effect to Mirror's Edge and Wipeout. If it's done right, but that's a given.
(Checks imdb) Ah! There's Uncharted. El Dorado, same as the game.... I might go see that movie.
According ...
