"All Flash no substance"? I guess thats why the Forza development tried to emulate GT, and attempt to improve on?
Oh, and GT HAS Forcefeedback since the Immersion settlement. Know your info before you post it.
This entire thread is apples to oranges anyway. You cant compare a finished product like Forza2, to GTHD demo. Physics, customizations, online specs..who knows what GT5 will have.
Yeah, well, you havnt seen Hot Pink yet, so...
GT has better graphics than Forza. I would also give the edge to Physics. The DFP wheel and its FF/Rumble was way ahead of Forza. Now, Forza has their own wheel. Ive tried it, and although its a great improvement, I think the Logi DFP and G25 make the experience in GT better than the wheel for Forza.
Of course Forza wins in your other categories.

I think when we can compare GT5 with Forza, we'll know who makes the ...
I agree. Im a sim racing fan(GT/TOCA), and Im really looking forward to this. I cant wait to start using my DFP wheel again, now that its FF/Rumble function have been enabled on the PS3.
Too bad F1:CE doesnt have FF.
ALso cant wait for the next TOCA from Codemasters(Race Driver One) to be released. I liked TOCA 3, but, it looked like crap on my PS2. ALso, the FF/Rumble wasnt as good with my DFP like GT4. Of course, the DFP was made for GT4 anyway.
Finally I can use my DFP racing wheel again, now on my PS3. Gonna grab GT4/TOCA, hell even GT3 and have some FF/Rumble fun again!
The whole HD thing is much to do about nothing. Its not HD. Its not significantly noticeable, if at all.
I was commenting more on the game itself, rather than Japanese consumers. Certainly a game doesnt have to have online to be a good game. Motorstorm however, is a game that without online, really is quite empty.
Japanese consumers would buy it without the online. The offline kinda sux, imo. Too few tracks and way too repetitive.
I have to agree that graphically, it looks PS2. Hopefully gameplay adds something from prior game.
I downloaded the Euro version when it was released with FF/Rumble.
Without FF, and to a smaller extent rumble, my DFP is castrated...worthless.
The Euro version had both FF and rumble put back in. I guess the US will have both. Thus far, rumbles only importance is in racing/sim games. I dont particularly care about it in other types of games.
I hope we will be able to get FF and rumble capabilities back in our PS2 titles and supporting PERIPHERALS(Racing w...
I would be surprised if this update fixes the scaler issue. Im affected by it, but, Im not feeling much hope on that.
I also would LOVE if they could enable FF/Rumble in 3rd party peripherals like the steering wheels, for PS2 games that have it(GT4, TOCA, etc).
Not holding my breath on that one either :/
I only Rumble when I drive. FF, is essential, of course. PLEASE enable it for all PS2 games that had it, along with the current batch. My DFP and rig, is getting too dusty.
Exactly.
He's not saying that it will be 10 years until their next console.
Who knows how much longer the PS2 will sell.
10 years is possible
"until they put FFB back in on Steering Wheels, IMHO."
ditto
I thought GTHD was basically a demo :/
Compare Forza 2 to GT5, not, GTHD
It really comes down to, how much better will it look graphically.
In comparison, when Gran Turismo 4 came out, they had an upscaled 1008i, which looked pretty good for a PS2 game.
Im wondering how THOSE upscaled graphics, would compare in quality, to what youre speaking of for PS3 1080i,and how that end product would compare to whats currently happening, with 720p getting downscaled to 480p.
How can they give it a perfect score when the game doesnt even have Forcefeedback? Garbage review
or is Phil Harrison sounding more like Bagdad Bob?
Everything is great with Sony/Bagdad... Couldnt be better...Consumers are gonna love this...Resistance is futile... :/
unfortunately. The last sentence, in the quote below says it all for racing fans. No Force Feedback kills the game for me. I have a DFP, and I wont go back to hand controllers for racing. Sorry.
"Formula One Championship Edition features support for a number of Logitech racing wheels, like the Driving Force Pro and its premiere G25 racing wheel. The game works very nicely with these wheels, letting you dial-in your lines more accurately than with an analog stick, though Force ...
They also had the luxury of putting their demo out AFTER the GTHD-demo, so understand that in knowing how many tracks and cars GT had, its easy to one-up em. Im sure the other way around, Polyphony would have done the same with their demo. Whatever.
