you gotta' admit they know how to launch a blockbuster. Great pre-release hype, simultaneous worldwide release, massive ad campaign with great commercials, 20,000 midnight launch parties worldwide. Only thing I think Sony is better at as far as marketing goes is their bundles. Why MS doesn't release bundles for their blockbusters is beyond me. I'm sure it boils down to dollars and cents.
stop insulting Gears of War 2 by mentioning R2 in the same breath with it. Gears 2 is probably the best game of '08. Resistance 2 will be lucky to break the top 10. If you love Resistance 2 so much then go comment on the numerous Resitance 2 reviews and articles. You won't be missed.

All the Gamestops in my city were sold out and I bought the last of a couple copies left at Best Buy. It was very similar situation to when I bought GTA4 on launch day. Which I wasn't expecting considering it's an RPG otherwise I would have pre-ordered.

Nah, western RPGs haven't sold as much as this game on launch day with the exception of World of Warcraft and Diablo 2.

this game should have got almost all 9's and 10's. It's a better sandbox game than GTA 4 and a great RPG on top of that.
better than GTA 4 which got all tens. remember all the critics raving about GTA4's multiplayer? well, if it was so great then how come no one plays it anymore?
a lot of it is just fanboys that are envious of people playing this game trying to disparage it. their attempts don't appear to be working seeing how all the Gamestops in my city are sold out of this game and I managed to pick up the last of 4 or so copies at best buy. Should have pre-ordered...
it's an awesome game that bypasses all the typical RPG cliches and has a great graphics, great voiceovers, great gameplay, and most importantly a great story. of course, even if I do run into some glitches it wouldn't bug me. you have to be seriously anal retentive to let a few glitches bug you. there were some glitches on mass effect but that didn't stop it from being a great game.
it's 10-15 hrs long.
