I appreciate it. Glad to see you're enjoying the content.
Oh great already 8K talk. This got ridiculous. Already can see the PC master race BS that's going to come from this.
What it should cost in terms of accessibility is $399 but what it will cost is another story. I still think it will be $499. I can't see Scorpio costing over $500. It would be a disaster for the console.
Where I think Phil kind of messed up and tying his opinion about single player games to the industry. What he should of said was single player experiences no longer have the same impact "ON THE XBOX PLATFORM". By him saying the industry he now included the PS4 and the switch. PS4 and to be honest playstation in general have been successful with providing single player experience. I would wager Andre House and Yoshida do not agree with Phil Spencer's view.

All 3rd party games should be multiplats as long as the 3rd party publisher has the resources to support multiple platform development. Some may only have the budget for one or two platforms at any given time or they may feel a specific platform may not be financially viable to make a port.
And to think Dead Rising 4 was one of the games Xbox fanboys bragged about in terms of holiday gaming yet it under performed meaning most didn't buy it.
This to me does more harm then good. Unless you got a 4KTV you can't really see a significant difference. Microsoft should arrange kiosks across major outlets (BestBuy, Walmart, target, etc) to truly show the difference. This demonstration right here, won't make a consumer spend an extra $150 to $250 over a standard PS4 slim or XB1S.
Great news. So much for the fanboy narrative that Sony is broke so they won't be able to afford new IPs or growth in gaming. PlayStation brand keeps growing and growing.
Article brings up a good point about a $350 PS4 pro versus a $500 Scorpio. Scorpio is more powerful but you have to pay the extra $150 to get it. This not the same scenario when PS4 and XB1 launched. PS4 had more power but it was $100 cheaper than XB1 so basically the consumer was paying less for more.
But lets not forget the inevitable $250 PS4 slim bundles with games that will dominate the market. That's the trump card.
This whole Scorpio is going to outsell the PlayStation brand (even if it's only directed in North America) really needs to stop. You Xbox fans are setting yourself up for failure. Yes power was a factor in PS4's success but Sony never sold it for $500 for a standard base SKU. Also there wasn't a cheaper $250 current gen console available to choose over the PS4's $400 console. If anything PS4 was the cheapest because XB1 launched at $500.
There were two perio...
30 to 35 exclusives? You are asking way too much. MS doesn't have the studios to push that much content and there are not that many studios willing to make games exclusively for XB. Maybe a bunch of indies but definitely not AA and AAA games. PS4 has too big of a market share.

And who's that great publisher? Microsoft? If that was the case what happened with Platinum Games with Scalebound. It doesn't make sense for any company to buy Crytek when the core developers that make up the studio don't develop games that are sell. I can see maybe buying a few talent here and there to build a new studio but to buy them as a whole is a waste.
They're known for graphics but as you can see it didn't help the...
Why would buying a company that earns little money in games sales makes sense in buying?
BC won't be much of an issue since it's x86 architecture. Most likely all PS4 content will work on PS5. What I don't want to see is forward compatibility mean PS5 games can also run on PS4. I want PS5 games to take full advantage of PS5 hardware and not simply because of graphics. Better hardware helps with better game design.
The funny thing is Tuasia0 is not that far off. This is Phil Spencer's feeling about the console war when he first took over.

Quote "At some level, it is a competition, and I've said before I want to win," he explained.
He is only like this now cause he knows it...
PS4 is on top because Sony sent the right message with PS4 right out the gate while Microsoft just went full blown retard. The XB1 unveiling was a disaster, worst ever in gaming history, in just hours of Microsoft unveiling plans of 24 hour always online DRM Sony saw it was a bad idea and dropped immediately while it took weeks for Microsoft to get the picture. Don Matrick even insulted the Xbox fanbase by saying "Buy a Xbox 360 is you want an Xbox that isn't always online". <...
The gap is not shrinking every year. Look at the switch. Can't even do what the PS4/XB1 does and those consoles came out back in 2013. Let's not even compare switch to the PS4 pro and the upcoming Scorpio. Switch is generations behind those two consoles.
Exactly. PS4 is the market leader. Bethesda is not going to miss out on all those game sales.
Not if it's a AAA game title. Maybe the mobile title.
I think Sony as a publisher can see the 3rd party industry pushing service based games and very little single player experiences. Unlike Phil Spencer who thinks single player games no longer have an impact, Sony sees this as an opportunity to monopolize a segment of gaming no one else want to support. The end result is Sony achieving great success while still benefiting from the service based games 3rd party will provide.
Sony doesn't need to focus on MP service based g...
