Still in the race but will end up dead last. The fight is between P4 and Switch. MS went after the niche crowd of 4K gaming to the point they allowed they're 1st party become mediocre.
Yeah that is just weird asking for the removal of a disk drive.
1. There is barely any significant savings removing a drive.
2. Any small savings that there is won't be passed on to the consumer. These console will still launch at $400 or more.
2. It limits the audience. A lot of gamers still buy disc. Download speeds, data caps and crappy providers make it difficult to go fully digital for games pushing 50GB of data to download. Music and movies are ...
Console war will never end because it is simply human nature. Gamers are not the only ones arguing over products. Craftsman vs Snap-on, Mustang vs Camaro, IPhone vs Galaxy, Nike vs Reebok etc.
If you look at past generations of console gaming across many successful platforms such as SNES, NES, PS1, PS2, XB360, Genesis, etc and look at the games sales of what we consider killer apps you will see the majority fall within the 4% to 7% range. Very few games break 10% or higher.
For example, God of War. Huge franchise and killer system selling app for the playstation brand. Yet God of War 1 sold 3.4% and God of War 2 sold 2.8%.
So using Xbox fanboy...
For every one Overwatch how many Lawbreakers do we get? What you failed to realize is successful online multiplayer games are few and far between and if they don't start out successful, they will never be successful because the community will never be there. Successful online games require a community to be part of it.
Some single player games may not start out successful but can eventfully be profitable through hype and word of mouth. Also single player games don't...
The only reason Sony (and we can include Microsoft) did this is to test of the waters the phone market is currently doing. Providing frequent marginal upgrades vice waiting 5+ years for a new console.
I can say so far it's a failure. You're project Pro will have 15 million sold by 2020. Not even close, try more like 9 million. Pro makes up around 20% of current PlayStation sales. With PS4 selling around 15 million per year that's 3 million Pro sales.

Already on twitter got xbox fanboy's crying on how Nier only sold to 4% of the fanbase. LMAO pathetic damage control.
A lot of PS4 gamers don't really care to play with Xbox gamers. The ones that do aren't crying about that they can't. If it happens it happens, if it don't it don't.
From Sony's perspective cross play would mean you wouldn't have to buy a PS4 to play with your friends cause you can cross play with them on XB1. That's why I'm not going to even waste my time worrying about this. Bigger install base is a huge advantage for any console manufacturer to continue to be the #1 selling console. Crossplay would take that away,
I'm not worrying about this subject. It's a moot point because Sony will not buy into cross playing with Xbox this gen. Having the bigger install base is an advantage and cross play takes away from that so I don't expect Sony greenlighting cross play. I'm not going to waste my time waiting around for it.
Streaming games is a garbage concept. The latency is terrible. Also add the fact you always have to be only for even games that have nothing to do with online. Even Spotify music which is built to stream music know the value of off line play since you can download music onto your device and listen to it without needing a online connection.
Just stop, EA is not doing this for anyone's benefit. They want increase the profit margin out of their content and in the end we g...
They will continue to do what they have been doing. Keep the PS4 products affordably prices, ensure the keep the best 3rd party support and most importantly, provide the best 1st party/exclusive games.
If Nintendo announces a Metroid Prime 4 and few other great titles I might cop a switch this holiday vice a XB1S.
Every console is nothing without 3rd party games.
Useless feature.
This is a stupid argument. Now gamers demand historical accuracy in a franchise where people are hoping for a zombie mode. There have been movies where WWII was completely reimagined. It's all entertainment. If you're really interested to see what role women played in WWII than actually read about it. Don't rely on a videogame to teach you WWII.
Did most of you use the movie Pearl Harbor starring Ben Affleck as a way to learn about Pearl Harbor? Enough with the...
They don't have to try and just focus on what they thing they do best. But Xbox will never be the most dominating brand in console. Dominant consoles tend to it all when it comes to providing content. Be able to provide good multiplayer experiences, good single player experiences, good AAA, AA, A budget games, good indies and have good third party support.
A console being a Jack of all trades is what make it successful;. Xbox brand would just be missing a big piece.
I would be shocked (and extremely happy) if GoW came out this year. Sony has been very successful pushing their biggest IP at the beginning of the year Bloodborne (2015), Uncharted 4 (2016), Horizon Zero Dawn (2017) God of War (2018). This holiday is packed with big killer titles and E3 will mostly likely show even more.
Plus the investment in marketing behind Battlefront 2, Red Dead Redemption2, Destiny 2, and COD WWII means Sony wants these games to sell. Adding another ...
I don't think it's a great idea. That would mean Sony is heavily invested in designing new architecture that would have to be ready quickly which means less money for game development. I'm sure PS5 is in the R&D phase but not to where it has be in production any time soon.
I think the trend since Forza released is Forza is the better overall racing game due to content and features while Gran Turismo is the better overall driving experience as a sim racer.
