Didn't realize RE7 sold 65 million copies on PS4 at all.
Would be nice if he spent more time discussing upcoming 1st Party titles.
@Ghost_of_Tsushima We have to give credit where credit is due and the XB1X is an amazing piece of hardware. But it's not the same as the base PS4 vs base XB1 because both original XB1 and PS4 launched in the same month and PS4 was $100. To have a more powerful console launch at the same time as the competitor and end up $100 cheaper is quite different than a more powerful console launching a year later and it being $100 more expensive.
You do realize all of the bangers that came out in 2017 still count during the holidays right? People who are buying consoles in November never got the opportunity to play the games released so far this year.
XB1X is indeed a very powerful well designed platform but it's greatness will fall short without exclusive software. Having the best versions of multiplat games is not enough. Some of the greatest consoles of all time aren't known for being the greatest because of superior version of multiplats.
XB1X is the best example of what a mid gen refresh should be. I don't think Sony did a good job of that compared to what MS did with the 1X, but make no mistake it is s...
This is normal for launch consoles. If you're always a day one buyer, you should know this by now.
PSNOW is a failure. Complete waste of time. Notice that is the one metric Sony doesn't talk about. Sony mentions hardware sales, they mention PSVR sales, they mention games sales, they mention active userbase numbers, they mention PSN+ subscriptions. But for some reason PSNOW subscriber numbers are unknown. They don't mention how many people are subscribe to PSNOW, they don't mention how much revenue comes from PSNOW, they don't mentions how it's growing year over year. Th...
I disagree with you opinion. The whole point of a UI is simply to be able to use the functions the device is able to do. After awhile once you're used to the UI, it becomes an after thought. Constant revived UI is a dumb concept. Look at IOS. It gets it's update but it's still remains basically the same. You don't have to reinvent the wheel in order to make it better.
$400 is still the sweet spot. yes releasing a $500 opens the door for a more powerful console but at the cost of slower adoption rate. Slower adoption rate means slower games sales and game sales is the life blood of the industry. The better the initial game sales the faster developers can jump into making the best games possible for new hardware.
If next gen game consoles have slow sales, developers will still focus on the older last gen hardware until next gen gets to a p...
You say that now but look at their overall exclusive portfolio. Most xbox exclusives haven't sold well so in reality, are Xbox gamers really buying xbox for exclusives? They big sellers are Halo, Gears and Forza Horizon (I wouldn't put Motorsport as a big seller).
I think XBL, the ecosystem and XBL friends are bigger reasons why Xbox has a core audience that will always stay on Xbox. For those that don't buy Xbox, MS will make money off them via software sales ...
It's an article from the Wall Street Journal who interviewed Phil Spencer. He didn't say PlayStation specifically. he said that there is a chance games can be published on other platforms. So he could me MAC, Switch, IOS, Android and yes PlayStation.
This goes back to point 4. How many xbox gamers do you know hear saying it's not about exclusives? It's to the point where Xbox core fanbase is more about the ecosystem of Xbox rather than exclusives. At this point the core Xbox audience don't care if other people are playing Xbox games so as long as their core experience on the Xbox ecosystem provides them with what they want.
Overall this makes sense for a few reasons.
1. Phil Spencer's decision hasn't been one that seems he is interested in dominating the console market. He's putting almost if not all of future Xbox games on PC, Minecraft is on multiple platforms and he constantly talks about how gamers should have access to all content on the platforms they prefer. He is not a very "buy my box and forget everything else" kind of guy.
2. It's clear X...
Nothing on Xbox will make anyone forget about Mario.
I think everyone who is interested in getting a powerful console and as well as upgrading their Xbox experience should be excited.
What the hell does unnecessary graphic and disturbing depictions of violence even mean? It's entertainment. There are countless books and movies that have extreme violence.
LMAO hilarious. Didn't expect that.
Sony dominating Paris Games Week is not even an opinion. Is Microsoft even doing anything special for PGS?
I got an xbox recently and so far the two exclusives I enjoyed the most is Cuphead and Gears 4. Still need to try out Ori, Quantum Break and Sunset Overdrive.
He will never understand your point because the Xbox one platform is doing a terrible job of providing both multiplats and exclusive gaming experience. Even with the multiplats Xbox is subpar because PS4 received exclusive content on many multiplats this generation.
