Purchasing EA would actually be good for development of EA games, in that EA would not need to rush games out the door, based on shareholder demands. When you look at 343 Industries, Turn 10 and Rare, they seem to have a level of flexibility or protection against rushed releases.
This is very similar to how Sony's studios operate, since conference calls with shareholders don't focus in on specific games necessarily, but rather, they focus on the entire corporation, ...
I've had the remastered version on PS3 for a while now, but haven't played it yet. Looking forward to giving it a try.
Very true.
It doesn't look like Capcom spent any time taking advantage of the extra power that Xbox One X has. Oh well, I guess it just made things easier for them.
Hey Jon, no other console offers those features, so I'm not sure what the point of your comment is.
They'll recoup the costs in several ways. Xbox Live memberships, Game Pass memberships, DLC and micro-transactions, and then ultimately, these games will not stay on Game Pass forever, which means that if you want to keep playing the game, then you will need to purchase it from the store.
No, I think this level of brand hatred is unfounded. The problem is that these days you have kids that are 16, 17, 18 and 19 years old ect...ect..., writing articles, many times on prominent gaming sites, and making videos on youtube, which has made the gaming press into a very immature institution(if you can call it that). The older game journalists, who have accumulated experience and perspective over the course of the last 20 - 35 years, are pretty much gone, because there's no money i...
And unlike PSNow
At least it gets kids actually building something in real life, rather than having them sitting looking at an ipad all day long.
This article sounds like group therapy to me. It's pretty stupid to think that Sony and/or Nintendo would not have to respond to a major competitor in the video game/console manufacturing industry. Half of the people writing these articles have no clue when it comes to real life business, especially when it concerns large multi-national corporations like these.
@notachance
I'm not sure where you live, but I'm in Canada, and Xbox Live is a flawless system here, and is very well supported. I agree, that Microsoft does best in English speaking countries like Canada, Australia, United Kingdom and the U.S.A..
With regards to all of the exclusive games that I listed, the point was mainly to show that in reality, when people say that Sony 'has all the games', it simply isn't true. I agree that Sony&...
@ Ilostmymind
I never claimed that Microsoft has won anything this generation. Also, what specific promises are you referring to, made by Microsoft, that I should not count on?
Is Microsoft just supposed to sit still? Everything they've implemented to date, since Phil Spencer has taken the lead role in the company, has strengthened their foundation for everything going forward.
When you look at cross platform play with the Play Anywhere program, when you look at the investment they've made into backwards compatibility, when you look at Game Pass and the fact that you will get new first party games on day one for an extremely low price, an...
People who think Sony's line-up of exclusive are they best thing ever, really haven't thought things through, or they are young people who are new to gaming, and don't understand what the console generations before, provided when it comes to exclusive games.
If we were talking about last generation, then I agree 100%, that Sony had the best exclusive games. This generation on PS4, they certainly have a large amount of exclusive games, but there are only maybe 10...
I could understand $100.00, but over $500.00? Forget it.
He can deny it all he wants to, we can see it with our own eyes.
If gaming retailers decide to go to war with Microsoft, I would expect Microsoft to double down, and fast track the digital future. There isn't a damn thing retailers can do to stop it. Microsoft has their own stores in most malls in my area anyway.
@uptownsoul
Microsoft is already on the road to not needing a brick and mortar store. It's called Windows10. They will focus on the PC, and they'll sell consoles to people who can't afford a gaming PC. Eventually they'll be like Steam, but they'll have the added advantage of having a console base also.
They've already pointed out that they base their success on active users on Xbox Live, not console sales, which makes sense since ...
Why do you 'gotta love it'?
Well, they would be following in Sony's footsteps. Sony did buy Naughty Dog, Media Molecule, Sucker Punch, Guerrilla Games, Zipper Interactive, Evolution Studios and others.
