The article is written by an alleged PC gamer and gives a perspective few share in the PC gaming community.
As a PC gamer I can point out that the primary reason one with a decent machine would play on a console would be because of the exclusive games.
The primary reasons console owners cited buying a PS4 over Xbox one when surveyed was that it had better resolution and graphics in the multi format games. Exclusive games were a close second. Other options...
I'm swerving away from Xbox One. Microsoft announced all their future titles on both PC and Xbox One, and that killed Xbox One stone dead for me, and even pre-empted Scorpio too.
Why would I play Xbox One much or even care about Scorpio if I already own a 4K capable gaming PC? Especially one I have hooked to a TV, connected to Microsoft's own Xbox One elite controller that can play all the same games, but just better than Xbox One can now? Just. Better. Full 60 fram...
Vega will be in Scorpio, but the configuration is unknown. It just won't be THIS version of Vega, which is a high end desktop part. It might have a similar configuration but with much lower clocks, or most likely it might have CUs disabled and different clocks.
But it'll be a variant of Vega. The whole reason why Scorpio is not ready for a year is because Microsoft were waiting for this architecture to be finished. Polaris was done and that is what Sony went for, Mi...
The machine had a few good games but sooooo much shovelware and nonsense that no one outside of Nintendo really utilised properly. It remains in my mind the ultimate shovelware machine.
I turned on my Wii for the first time in about 4 years just last week, used it for 10 minutes and then immediately decided it was mostly dated junk and sold it the next day. It was dated even in 2006, and sold very well on a gimmick (and it helped that it was cheap compared to it's rival...
The days of extremely high end arcade games are long gone.
It's obviously meant to look old skool and arcadey but a few details give away it's modern roots. It's arcade only anyway. I wouldn't mind a home port though, let's hope they manage one in the next few years. It only took about 17 years to port the first Daytona USA properly onto a home platform.....
It was the first true post modern game. Incredible incredible game 15 years later!
It's definitely too early for 4K consoles. When those kinds of resolutions are yet to make major waves in the PC space (it still isn't a huge market) then you can feel the market is a little too young for a mainstream console. The hardware doesn't really feel ready for it either.
Another 3 years would have been about perfect, for a totally new console platform, with a massive GPU generational leap, lots more memory and CPU performance, and comfortable 4K native...
How not to launch your game on PC, as defined by Microsoft:
Make it only work on your latest OS which a lot of people don't have, and many don't like.
Make it only available online in one place, which has a bad reputation, and everybody thought sucks.
Sell it on your store for the same price as the $60 console version when it should always be less.
Rush it out for the sole purpose of pushing the OS, promoting said crappy store and new cros...
It's basically an Nvidia Shield with Nintendo branding. It really is that simple to define.
Can't say I expect it to do a great deal better than the Shield did. But we'll see.
'Cartridges' aka flash memory are probably the best solution for a machine that needs to be portable. Just for size purposes and power consumption too. Obviously they are considerably more expensive than a few cents worth of disc.
I do think that physical media is rapidly sliding towards obsolescence though, we are within a few years of digital only console models, at least as an option.
Maybe even more so for a console like Wii U, as flash memory...
Typical FIFA 16 defensive scenario meant that when you cleared the ball out, it ALWAYS went back to the opponent and your team was out of shape to defend it again. You could virtually never hit your striker or knock it into space.
I always found it better to try and aim it out for a throw in near as possible to the half way line, at least the positions 'reset' for the throw when that happened.
Native is obviously best but the resolutions will be so high it will start to matter less. If you're upscaling from 1280 x 720 to 1920 x 1080, both resolutions are fairly modest and you can easily see the difference between them.
The fact of the matter is though 4K is right on the upper end of what most humans can really see from most of their home setups and screens which is one factor.
If we assume Scorpio will do the full fat 3840 x 2160, then PS P...
99 problems but the base aint one?
There are several factors at play here.
1. Sony will probably have a 12 month head start. This is very important. If you're launching a machine that will have inferior specs, then get it out ages before it's rival.
2. It'll almost certainly be quite a bit cheaper. The most expensive single part in a console is usually it's silicon which will naturally be smaller in Neo. By the time Scorpio launches, Sony will likely be capable of undercutt...
The Win 10 release was a total disaster that is why, so few sales. Bit like Rise of the Tomb Raider, where nobody bought it on the store and everyone got it on steam lol
It's very tired and dirty, in poor condition really the worst stadium owned by such a big club in Europe I have ever been to and I have been to lots and lots. Many Italian stadiums are terrible, but most of those clubs don't have remotely like Barcelona's money so it's harder to criticise them.
Yeah, Barcelona's average attendance is really quite low considering the size of the stadium. Dortmund's is smaller and they manage a higher average, Manchest...
It's alright, Camp Nou is an old crumbling stadium anyway, that has 20,000 empty seats for most games except for a few big ones a season. Barcelona are having to spend a fortune to modernise it, it really needs it.
Everyone wants to get their hands on double Ds though
Again, are you blind? One is done with 2x SSAA, the other without. Do you know what SSAA is?
It's super sampled anti aliasing, a demanding form of AA which will clearly lower framerates significantly. Obvious why the results of one test are much lower than the other.
It seems clear from your other comments you have only extremely limited knowledge of PC gaming and the PC gaming community. You also addressed none of my points made in the above post directly whatsoever.
As a consequence I can only assume you replied to my comment in mistake.
