Why is it wrong? Activision doesn't owe us a COD4 remaster, and it's a luxury, not a need. No one will suffer if they don't have it. Like all luxury items, the consumers will either decide that it is worth the purchase (in this case the purchase of Infinite Warfare), or they will decide that it isn't.

People must be buying the remasters. Otherwise the practice wouldn't be profitable. If the practice were not profitable, then companies wouldn't do it.

Customers drive the train. There is clearly a demand for remasters. Should we be worried that game developers are meeting a demand?

Don't be melodramatic. No one is going to be prosecuted for sharing their Netflix password. Netflix offers a plan (that I am presently subscribed to) that encourages sharing by allowing concurrent streaming on four devices. Netflix also allows up to five profiles per account.

Because it's profitable, says common sense.

Sony designed and manufactures the PS4. I don't think they need you to tell them what it is. Thinking otherwise is hubris.

I don't see an issue here. The people who backed the game on Kickstarter are getting the rewards they expected to get when they donated their money. Anything beyond those listed rewards exists outside of the contract the backers entered into with the company. Expecting to receive something that wasn't promised to you doesn't seem reasonable.

Who cares why? There isn't anything wrong with showing FemShep instead of MaleShep, so there is no need for an article explaining it. It doesn't matter. I bet most people didn't even question it.

We will never get passed this sexism nonsense as long as we feel the need to explain why a female is in a trailer.

I would rather pay $60 for a game and $40 for a season pass I want than pay $100 for a game. At least with season passes I have the option of not paying for content I don't care about.

The price of games has been consistent (factoring for inflation) for 30 years now, despite the increased cost to make them. Paid DLC is how the industry is keeping the games at $60.

Seriously, NES games were $29.99 in 1988. That was equivalent to $60.60 in 2015. So ga...

People know that cheating in a competitive multiplayer game is wrong. They know going in that a lifetime ban is the consequence for being caught cheating. I have no sympathy for people who are banned for cheating. They accepted that risk when they decided to cheat. Dealing with the consequences of our choices is just part of being an adult, and for the kids who are playing who haven't learned that yet, well it's a good life lesson for them.

Why should people need mo...

If 10/10 is never given, then the scale isn't actually a 1-10 scale. It would be effectively a 1-9 scale. If the scale is effectively 1-9, then 9 would have the same meaning as a 10 on a 1-10 scale.

I have played Doom since the early 90's. Every once in a while I will download it and Doom 2 from Steam (Heretic and Hexen too) and give it another go. Suffice it to say, I am a huge Doom fan. I think the reboot is on point. It is a modern take on the game, but still manages to be faithful to the source material. I don't see why people are complaining about it.

Edit: Now I am thinking about Heretic and Hexen reboots. They wouldn't be able to take my money fast ...

I've put enough hours into the Division to justify the purchase, so I will give the game that. It just stopped being fun for me. It's presently just a boring grind to make my damage numbers bigger, so I can get through the same content I have done a hundred times already, but faster. I had hoped Falcon Lost would have brought something new, but I just don't find it fun to sit in one room and kill 15 waves of bullet sponges.

@game4funz

He actually doesn't make a point. He is claiming hypocrisy where none exists. Sony and Nintendo fans are not hive-minded. One Sony (or Nintendo) fan can have different opinions than another. Unless the exact same people who are bashing Nintendo for making the same game again are also giving Sony a pass for the same, then there is no hypocrisy.

Also, when people use absolutes like "always" (the sixth word in higgins78's post),...

I can't believe there is an actual petition for this. The game releases in 12 days.

That is an irresponsible headline. There is a difference between fixing a glitch and nerfing equipment.

The title makes zero sense. You can't feel hoodwinked about something you haven't purchased. Those who have purchased it are getting more content than expected for no additional cost. Those who haven't purchased it, but plan to, can still get it for the lower price for the next two weeks. There is no deceit or trickery involved.

@monkeyDzoro

It isn't accurate to say that all of the DLC will be free. SFV has a season pass.

Realistically, there probably were not enough people playing 2k14 to justify keeping the servers running. It's more practical to repurpose those servers for the newer games that more people play. I'm sure the vast majority of sports gamers moved on to 2k15 or 2k16.

I commend Microsoft for their decision to include backward compatibility. That was a sound gamer-centric business decision. That still doesn't mean it is owed to PlayStation 4 owners. Again, I would welcome backward compatibility, but I take issue with entitled attitudes. If a certain feature is not promised to be included, then it is unreasonable to expect it.

3753d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

True backward compatibility would be nice, and I would welcome it, but it isn't owed to us. The PS4 was not sold to us with the promise of backward compatibility, and our PS2 games were not sold to us with the promise that they would be playable on anything other than the PS2. Given these facts, they can charge what they want for the "PS2 on PS4" games (that are upscaled with trophy and share play support btw). It is up to the consumer to decide if they are worth the asking pric...
