Seriously. The God of War 3 release was the last time I stepped foot in a GameStop. The clerk was so pushy about the disc insurance. I told her that I was always very careful with my discs, and that BDs were scratch-resistant anyway. She started arguing that point and I just had enough of it and left without buying the game.
I understand that employees have a job to do, and they are expected to push preorders and insurance, but when I say no, I mean no.
I am one of those people not buying anything until the PS4 actually. Im just going to Gamefly everything through the Summer. When I got my PS3 I stopped using my PS2, and I will probably do the same when I get a PS4.
As much as I love the Batman Arkham games, I have no interest at all in playing a 1960's Batman game.
They added a third playthrough as well. True Vault Hunter Mode had new character models, and there is probably a fair amount of tweaking to increase the weapon stats for the higher levels, and the drop rates, etc.
Actually guys, an analyst who is always wrong is just as valuable as an analyst who is always right, so long as you know he is always wrong.
Do you know why vendors fight for eye-level shelf space in a store? Because no one looks up.
I suppose it is easy enough to demonize the companies for coming up with the concept, but truthfully the blame rests squarely with the consumers.
The consumer base accepted the DLC movement with open wallets. If we had not accepted DLC with our wallets, then DLC would not have proven profitable, and companies would have stopped providing it.
I can hardly blame the game companies for taking advantage of a profitable opportunity. The entire purpose of a busin...
It's like there is this group of people who do nothing but sit around a table all day and think of ways to take my money.
If Uncharted is the game by which Tomb Raider is measured, then that speaks more about Uncharted than it does Tomb Raider. Otherwise there would be no need for comparison, and Tomb Raider would simply stand on it's own merits.
@Summons75
I appreciate that the separate flashlight contributed to the atmosphere of the game, but it really never made much sense. I find it hard to believe that mankind is advanced enough to colonize Mars, and develop plasma weapons, but no one ever thought to develop mountable tac lights.
Our entire society is built upon capitalist principals. I don't see why anything should be free in such a society. It is a free market. If people feel the content is not worth the price, then they are welcome to exercise their right as a consumer and just not purchase it.
@slaton24
The DLC for M:UA2 is still on my download list. I bought the character pack before it was removed from the store, and I can still obtain it.
I am a straight up sociopath in games. I have no problem shooting a civilian in the head in Deus Ex just so I can get 25XP for hacking a door that is in their field of view. It is their fault anyway, for a couple of reasons.
1) They should mind their own business and not run to the police.
2) They are named "civilian". It is hard to feel empathy for someone who is dehumanized by design.
I stopped reading at "If you are in a 10 man raid, two people will have Y chromosomes". How can I take the author seriously if she doesn't even know what chromosomes she has?
She "admits" that she is a gamer. She "confesses" to playing for hours. When are we going to get to the point where being a gamer is not newsworthy?
Don't bother reading it people. You will just waste two minutes of your life. Just click +, then WTF?, then NO. How this website still has a star and a half rating I will never understand.
I am a realist. I am fully aware that it is easy for the contributor to put spoiler warnings up. I am fully aware that some people already do that. I am also fully aware that not everyone does, and the only way to completely protect yourself from reading spoilers is to avoid the articles in the first place.
You are justifying why people should put spoiler warnings up, and I agree with you. However, arguing about what should be does not make it so.
You are ar...
Complaining about how it should work is pointless. I agree, it should work that way, but I am a realist. The reality is that it doesn't work that way. If you don't want to read spoilers, then stay away from articles that cover the game.
I don't care what the consequences are. I am joining the Dark Brotherhood. That was my favorite quest line in Oblivion.
I am the type of person who will walk out without buying a game purely on principal. The clerk became argumentative, and I don't have to deal with that. There are plenty of retailers at my disposal that will just let me buy a game I want, and respect my decision when I decline additional services.
Also, the incentive to sell $3 disc insurance is that it is almost pure profit. Odds are most people won't have an issue within the coverage period, which is especially true...
