This game isn't going to fail. People who complain online represent a minority, and you can always find someone to complain about any given thing.
@steve - You can defend them based on the DLC Battlefield has gotten. I expect SWBF's to be comparable.
"File this under over-reactive opinion piece."
That file is overflowing, going only by the opinion pieces that make it to N4G.
The Site That Wouldn't Die
Just in time for Halloween!
Yeah people are throwing a fit like new ground is being broken.
"1) No Single Player Story mode"
Did the old Battlefronts have a story mode? I don't remember one. I do remember Conquest and wish it was in this one.
"2) No Space Battles"
Don't care. Didn't like them in the old game.
"3) No classes"
I prefer customization over classes.
"4) No Prequel content"
Thank the maker. I wish the ...
@ninja - "Bloodborne is good but not great enough to outshine games like MGS V and witcher 3."
I love MGS5 and think it definitely should be in the GotY contender conversation, but Bloodborne is still my personal GotY. Can't say about W3 as I haven't played it yet.
Definitely a good sign for possible success. If the VR quality is good, support is good, the price isn't too high, and it's possible to demo PS VR at a place like Best Buy, it could really take off.
I feel exactly the opposite. Cloak and Dagger is just a quicker way to earn GP for me, while the other two are far more fun imo.
What I dislike is the smaller Rush maps. The gameplay gets too much like a run of the mill shooter imo, while on the bigger maps there is more stealth and Metal Gear flavor to the gameplay. I wish I could Automatch into a playlist with only those big maps, regardless of the mode.
How many people buy every single season pass that comes along? Not that many I bet, but people are free to pick and choose how to spend their money just like you are. I rarely buy season passes, almost never in fact, but there's a decent chance I'll buy this one.
Some season passes seem worth it when all is said and done. Other's don't. There's no way to know how this one will be judged when it's complete, but Battlefield 4's DLC was good in my vie...
For whatever it's worth, I'm a huge Souls fan and I couldn't get into Lords of Fallen. I bought it cheap, didn't play it much, and eventually deleted it to install something else. Doesn't mean you won't like it though.
I guess it's more accurate to say Wasteland 2 is more true to Fallout 1 and 2 than Fallout 3 was.
Great game. Really glad I bought it on a whim.
"it looks more like a glorified Co-op game now than what they first showed."
What they first showed was more co-op than competitive.
"Ive seen Rebels destroy AT-ATS right after the second section."
The last night of the beta I saw the rebels take out an AT-AT at the end of the first section.
"The problem is people are not playing the objectives as Rebels and not listening to audio clues on when to attack the walkers."
Bingo. It was much better by the time the beta ended. I'm not sure there's really that big of a balance issue, but more of a play...
Definitely agree. Wasteland 2 is a better Fallout game than Fallout 3 was, imo. Like the writer said, those first two Fallout games are very different from what came after.
The real story would be a Bethesda game that didn't need a day one patch.
"You can just watch it on YouTube and get the same experience as 'playing' it."
Controlling what happens and watching what happens is never the same experience.
Opinions aside, it's still silly to declare a "hands down" GotY for 2015 when we still have contenders on the way.
It's not doomed, trust me. I preordered based on the beta and if my friend list is any indication there will be many people doing the same thing.
