Foxgod.. think about what you just said.
On steam, the games are downloaded to YOUR PC. On - Onlive, the games are totally out of your reach, they are stored on secure servers somewhere.
It isn't 100% down to blu-ray, but yeah - blu-ray makes it that extra step harder.
Yes, letting developers leave everything uncompressed means there is loads of game data, meaning it'll take forever for people to download the games.
Also, not many people have blu-ray rewriters, blank blu-ray discs are expensive.
One of the best portable games, evar!
You're not doing halo justice by just talking about sales guys, talk about how good the game is, how it changed the console industry.
I agree with the article though, i'm sure most people can recognise how halo helped move the console gaming industry forward, at least in terms of multiplayer.
I don't know.. we've only had 1 review below 8/10. Hardly love or hate.
Ldubbz, jaffe wasn't involved in GoW2 either, and that was as epic as the first, if not better.
Please sony.. do.. ;)
I'd take god of war 3 over all the games coming out this year.. :p
Same for you if you thought he wasn't being sarcastic :p
As much as core gamers hate what he has been doing recently.. he is responsible for more than doubling the size of the games industry in just a few years - which is a good thing for us.
I'll be back on gears 2 then tommorow!
The reason why everyone loves/loved it so much is because it did have so much going for it when sega pulled the plug.
It had an unfair death.
Yep, it'll be like their older games. Really fun games for a while, not something you should expect to be playing for a storyline or anything, but great fun when you're playing this.
I won't be getting this on release, but i'll probably rent it a month or so after.
Developers don't have the time or resources to dig into the PS3's hardware, only the first party ones do, with the exception of kojima productions.
and an MGS1 remake was done on the gamecube.. fair enough kojima wasn't directly involved.. but quite a few of his team were and kojima had the final word on how it went out.
I havn't played online much since the game came out.. due to the problems the game has.. but after the rank patch came out i got up to around rank 17, but one day - randomly, my rank just reset after i disconnected my hard drive (while the console was off) for 2 minutes, then put it back on.
Why isn't the rank stored and sync'd on their servers?!
Introducing a whole new format simply wouldn't work in microsofts favour well at all.
Blu-ray is the default format now.. by the 720 it'll be even more popular so they'll probably go with blu-ray.
Microsoft always said they would support blu-ray if they saw consumer demand, they are adding native blu-ray support for their operating systems soon enough, and if consumer demand for blu-ray is up by the time the next xbox comes out, i bet you that will have it too.
GiantEnemyCrab:
What about Triace?
What about Mistwalker?
What about Realtime Worlds?
What about Silicon Knights?
What about Bioware?
What about SimBin?
What about The Behemoth?
I could go on and on..
deshon09, you do know that the PS3 is only one out of the hundreds of products sony make and sell?
The likelyhood of one of those suppliers being a PS3 one is pretty slim.
PS360WiiRocks.. i guess you missed:
"thats not much when you consider that Epic is number one in middleware"
He knows that EPIC make the unreal engine and make alot of money off it, he is saying he is suprised they don't have more game franchises to their name.
Gaming would die if games were free.
Not even sony, microsoft or any of the hardware makers would do it. The majority of their profits come from software.
You have such a twisted view on this whole thing that it is scary.
