Yeah, i can play crysis warhead on enthusiast settings (highest possible) with 4x AA (Probably even 8x AA and stay at a good framerate) and i agree, Uncharted 2 is the best looking game i have played.
Yeah, PC games are in high resolution and will have better AA, but Uncharted 2 is more than that - the fantastic art style and enviroment effects are brilliant.
Hellsvacancy, they both have the same amount of memory but they're not used in the same way and are not the same type.
The XBOX 360 has a unified system of 512MB of GDDR3 memory @ 700MHz
The PS3 splits up its memory:
256MB of XDR system memory @ 3.2GHz (3200MHz)
256MB of GDDR3 video memory @ 700MHz
But the funny thing is, the AA issues don't seem to be there on first party games. So the hardware clearly isn't as limiting as what some third party developers are saying.
I don't think the GPU is an issue really either, for the reason i stated above - look at what the first parties can do, the power is there if you know how to use it.
As for the RAM, i think it could of done with more system RAM, not really for games but for the operating system and features. Look ...
But i thought PC gaming was dying?
I found that the 360 version looked better, but the PS3 version ran better - not nearly as much pop-in and it has a better framerate.
Yet i still buy the majority of my multiplatform console games on PS3 over 360.. they can't be that bad...
Playing half life so late after it was release doesn't have the same impact. To me, they're still absolutely fantastic games, but if you played them at the time of release - now look back, you realise how much they impacted the industry, just looking at todays games.
Why does he say the PS3 hasn't got live tv? It has PlayTV, and you can record programmes - while playing games, and you can watch those programmes on your PSP, and you can watch those programmes on the Aino.
Sky is all well and good, but it offers little advantage (as far as i can see) over just using your regular sky box. So i won't be renewing my gold membership when it runs out for this.
l0ol0rzzzz Mac SuxXxxx !!!11!! LOLOl1l1
Come on people, why don't we ever have any mac vs pc wars? We have every other kind!
Wow!
Being a big counter-strike fan, these are something i'd wish for in the UK version of left 4 dead 2. The scout and AWP would be so amazing!
Yeah, currently the only cards that support DX11 are ATI's 5750, 5770, 5850 and 5870.
And i agree. I thought resistance 2 was terrible, loved the first one, but Resistance 2 was trying to do too much stuff at once - while not trying to do any of them very well.
The multiplayer set up was very well done, mind you.
Kind of makes Uncharted: Drakes fortune look bad :o
I'll get it a try.. i have two free copies of it.
"Also I've never played games on pc do u have to pay to play multi-player on pc. "
Its such a shame microsoft has got gamers into the frame of mind that charging for online play is the norm, when it isn't. It is infact an unusual thing to do, no one else charges for online in the gaming world like Microsoft do.
"has the best online gaming service on earth, Xbox Live"
Lol. Hahhahahaha. Fair enough if you were saying out of the consoles, but the best on the planet? Shut up please, your ignorance to the gaming world outside of consoles is showing.
Let me use them with my ATI cards for dedicated physx use and i'll give it a go.
Physx hasn't see the greatest support, but nvidia don't really have anyone but themself to blame for that. Such as disabling use if another GPU is in the system.
I'm putting the lack of DX10 support down to Vista. Windows 7 seems to be like an operating system that will be embraced on a bigger scale, so i can see DX11 being a worthwhile option for game developers.
I'm not going to be paying $50 for it once it runs out now, so forget $100.
When they said they are using 100% of the power, they just mean they are using all of the SPU's on the cell, whereas on the last Uncharted they were not.
Doesn't mean they have pushed the hardware as far as it can go.
