With Kirby releasing next week and the Mario collection the week after this should be the lowest we see Wii falling this year although next year is looking very bleak. Most likely most of Nintendo's internal devs have already shifted focus to the 3DS and Skyward Sword will likely be the last big first party Wii release. PS3 continuing to hold at about 20k and Move releasing two weeks from now should help it retain and maybe increase that momentum.
While I won't be blindly optimistic but the reasoning behind this article is extremely sound. A release the week of Black Friday would be the perfect way to springboard sales into the holiday. Anyone remember the insane bundles Sony was offering last Black Friday?
Is this the lowest the Wii has ever been in Japan? IIRC it dropped pretty low the week before the price cut last year.
Yeah, I'm looking forward to that too. Although I think the current rumor has it as a 2011 release unfortunately. Then again this quarter is stacked enough as it is.
I'm no fanboy. I was honestly surprised.
Incredible, 360 has more games in the top 10 then Wii or PS3. Has that ever happened?
Not only did it break 1 million this week and outsell Wii for the year but it also outsold its entire year of sales for 2008 (just a hair over 1 million). Just goes to show you how much Sony has turned things around over there.
This isn't new. It's the numbers from the last quarterly report.
Oh man, Persona 4 re-entering and climbing the chart. Could this be a good sign for Catherine?
If you're having a lot of trouble with Zone Zeus you might want to pick up the Fury expansion. Syncopia makes that trophy slightly easier. Elite Campaign Legend is all about persistence. Just keep practicing until you have each track down to a science and just hope for that one lucky run where you get all the right pickups.
I've got 1 of the Plat's on that list (Wipeout HD) and I'm working on another 3 (Rock Band 2, Disgaea 3, Demon's Souls). Unfortunately it didn't make the list but I had more fun getting the Yakuza 3 plat than I did the Wipeout plat. Although they're both quite fun and enjoyable games. Although I don't think I would have been able to get Wipeout without the Fury expansion. Not to say that Fury makes it easy but it does make the Zone Zeus trophy slightly less heartbr...
@Game-ur Maybe their expectations in North America aren't high but they seem to be in PAL. Sony said they're projecting 500k Move units sold in Germany this fiscal year.
Kirby should at least give Wii a temporary surge in sales in October. It's current performance is actually making me kind of nervous though. Regardless of whether or not you're a fan of the Wii you can't deny that the market leader, at least for home consoles, should not be doing this poorly without a successor even in site and probably at least a year and a half off. We could be seeing the Wii's lowest weekly sales ever in the next month or so. I believe the previous low was ...
Persona 4 re-enters the top 50?! And I'm impressed with AC2.
Yeah, and this time don't screw over people in America. I mean for crying out loud even Japan got the GOW Trilogy.
I'm slightly confused about what exactly this is. Is it the original 3 mario games dumped onto a disc or is it an uprgraded port? If it's a limited print run the soundtrack and history booklet will make this quite the collectors item.
MH3P is going to be monstrous (no pun intended). I can hardly wait to see what it sells. MHFU's legs are absolutely astonishing.
I'm not going to make any 'VGFail' comments, I support the site wholeheartedly and usually consider their numbers accurate. But in the specific case of GOW3 there's been a lot of evidence to suggest that their numbers are inaccurate. Firstly the Americas sales for the first three weeks seem to be only about 25k higher than NPD despite the game having a 225k first shipment to Canada and Sony confirming that first month sales in Brazil were 30k and were at 45k as of about a mont...
I know, that's my point. It's the same price that the high-end model would be normally anyway but with the Move starter pack included. And at least I've known about it for the past couple weeks. I could have sworn there was an article about it. Maybe it just wasn't here on N4G.
Move doesn't come out in Japan until October 21st.
