The numbers represent sales from the 7th to the 13th. The earthquake/tsunami happened on the 11th. Although the majority of potentially HW-impacting games released on the 10th. This was also the week that the silver PS3 came out.
I have the plat as well but it wasn't golf and koi koi that drove me nuts. I got golf on my 2 or third try and I figured out how koi koi worked pretty quickly. It was pool and the batting cages that were the real time-sinks. Even once I memorized the pitch order very hard difficulty took forever.
It's at 23 million right now. Looking at the year on year trends it wouldn't surprise me to see it hit 30 million in the USA this year, although it's probably going to be really close. Although there is one thing to consider, saturation. If we see that start to take effect sales could decline pretty sharply. Similar to whats happening with DS right now being down almost 50% YOY.
The 360k comes from NPD. They said that PS3 is up year on year and it sold 360k in last February NPD. Pachter said that it's up about 25% in terms of revenue. How that translates in actual HW sales is unknown but a direct conversion would be about 450k. Actual average revenue per unit might be up or down depending on what the spread is between the high-end and low-end SKUs.
And to top it all off it's up year-on-year in NPD. This was indeed a pretty good day for Sony and PS3. And keep up the good work Kaz.
I've been playing MHTri off and on for months although I'm taking a bit of a break from it for now. The last Wii game I played was Donkey Kong Country Returns about a month and a half ago. Before that, other than MH, it was Metroid: Other M which was a huge disappointment.
In-freakin'-deed.
I assumed so. I played the demo and even on easy it seemed relatively difficult. I actually hope they maintain the level of challenge if and when this gets a western release.
Yeah, for a non-leading console in its 5th year on the market and 17 months since its last price cut, basically being flat YOY is pretty damn impressive.
IIRC last generation they tracked the Xbox and Gamecube in the double and even single digits.
There were 2 new bundles released.

This game was recently patched to fix some of the camera issues, which was basically my only complaint with it. They added an easy mode too. This is definitely my favorite downloadable game of 2010.
I wonder if the PS2 will still be around when the next generation starts. That console just refuses to quit.
If this does indeed come to Wii it will be the first WiiWare game I buy since Cave Story.
Wii falls off a cliff. DS slowly dying in the wake of 3DS anticipation. PSP still suffering from shortages. PS3 doing surprisingly good, at this point I think Torne is its biggest advantage. Overall rather depressing HW numbers.
Sweet deal, although my PC probably can't even run it.
FFXIII crossed 1 million in 2009.
PSP is suffering from some pretty extreme shortages. And apparently retailers say stock will be tight until the end of the month. Hell of a way for Sony to be starting the year off in Japan. Nice to see PS3 on top for home consoles though.
Between this, Infamous 2, and Catherine summer looks to be having a pretty decent line-up for once rather than the usual drought.
