Naughty Dog, Inc. is an American video game developer based in Santa Monica, California.
Founded by Andy Gavin and Jason Rubin in 1986 as an independent developer, the studio was acquired by Sony Computer Entertainment in 2001.
So, any separation depends on whether, historically, Sony has been a better partent company vs MS. Taking bets. Bungie actually renegotiated their independence because MS wanted them to do just "Halo" for the next 10 years.
XBOT's Favorite words on XBL = The N-word and headshot, beeeyach"
Not sure, but I play CoD anytime I want to play the standard "global terrorist genre, etc, etc..."
But I play KZ because I like the story and being immersed in that other-world they've created. The Hellgast seem so powerful an enemy; and it's not cut and dry that the ISA are pure "good" either.
Rent-a-crowd! :D
PSN doesn't have xbot douche bags!
Once a patch is released (if this isn't on easy mode) this will be a moot point and xbots will have to find something else to bitch about. :D
"Sony was laughed at for good reason."
No they weren't. They were laughed at because of immature impatience by the shortsighted and typically younger 360 fanboys.
But I can see why a typical FPS-Halo fan, who's language and foresight doen't extend past, "Headshot, beeyach!"
The articles that were written about the PS3 had headlines that read like this...
"PS3 loses 3rd party developer again" when in fact, they didn't lose it, it just went multiplat.
Yet, when the same thing happened to the 360, you see, "So-and-so game goes multiplat" even though it used to be exclusive to the 360. No mention of the 360 "losing" anything or even if it was a 360 game. Biased. And gamespot/kotaku was guilty of thi...
Jaiidee,
The "Disagrees" you are getting for your comment isn't because your reply to Alpha-Male22 is incorrect, but rather because butthurt xbots don't like hearing the truth. I was going to write a reply to Alpha on the difference between a MS limited first party agreement vs a Sony subsidiary. Bungie used to be a subsidiary of MS, who tried tried to make them an in-house developer (relocate), yet Bungie resisted. And after a few years of dealing with MS...
Nice vid!
All I keep hearing is that KZ3 has better aiming and graphics. I want to actually play it to see how much better it is compared to KZ2.
I disagree. I think it's more like 810K lead on the PS3. I was downtown and found 10K 360s just sitting there in a wearhouse collecting dust and a M$ truck driving off into the darkness.
:P
The only reason you brought up Bayonetta is because it's also on the 360. If it was a PS3 exclusive you wouldn't have brought it up.

He's going to eat those words.
I can't stand him. He's so wrong on all his numbers, most of the time. And when he's right he's usually 1 to 2 years off.
I'm only waiting for Dead Nation.
And The Tester 2 on Tuesday.

You said,
"Marketing is the key to a "successful" product. Successful in the sense that it sells and makes the shareholders $$. Not in the sense that it actually works as described."
No, marketing helps an already solid technology. But if there aren't enough software to support the "claims" of said marketi...
Yes, but after the PS3 launch you heard the opposite, "The PS3 is doomed." Especially after all the 3rd party developers went multi-plat.
The articles were always written in a way that made it seem like Sony lost an exclusive and the 360 gained an exclusive. But it wasn't true. It was that the 3rd party companies decided that it was best for them to go multi-plat. Not exclusive with any console. Yet, the headlines always were written in a pro-360 way.

You'd have a point if your software attached rate was a 10:1 ratio. But it's not. On the 360 the most average multi-plats only sell a few hundred thousand more than the PS3 depending on the genre of the game (FPS vs RPG). Other games like FFXIII sold twice as many on the PS3 as the 360.
If you are going to isolate total sales push on FPS your point even loses more credibility. The small edge that some 360 sales get over the PS3 are negligible. But that's not signi...
I agree too! That one is annoying.
