Probably slightly upgraded. More expressions, hairstyles and what not. Maybe even hats. Sort of like the 3DS.
Because that would have increased the price of the console. Not to mention I'd rather choose how much memory I want on my Wii U. I don't want them to stick 100GB in the console only to jack up its price to $400 when I can just use the external I have right now.
That's not a fanboy argument, that's sensible. I hate proprietary HDDs. They were awful on all three of my 360s.
Two gamepads. The Wii U supports Wiimote + Nunchuk and its Pro controller.
But you shoot things in Metroid...
"but a large proportion of the other games can be played on current systems."
That's not bad news at all for anyone who doesn't already own them only a small handful of these games are even that old. PS3 and 360 share a ton of multiplats. Wii did not get many of them and neither did its predecessors after the SNES.
Now we get those multiplats on the same system that gives us Mario, Metroid and Zelda.
@Hatsune-Miku
Sony said the PS2 would give us Pixar quality graphics and it wound up being the weakest of its generation. Don't believe everything you hear.
@Hatsune-Miku
Crystal ball. Show me. Now.
"The 360 has an excellent keypad that I don't understand why more developers don't take advantage of it."
The 360 controller is good for shooters. That's about it. I hate using it for Mortal Kombat and it has less inputs than the PS3 and Wii U controllers.
If the PS3 came with a mouse and keyboard then we probably would have seen more MMOs.
MMOs on consoles are an interesting thing. RTSs are pretty rare on them too. Perh...
@soljah
Lol it's cool. There are a couple of trolls that follow my comments to disagree with them.
To answer your question with a guess; I think you won't need to store games unless you download them off the eShop. Nintendo's disc readers are often top quality. My GCN and Wii have never failed me. Of course this is an HD console, so that's completely subject to change. So who knows?
Good question. Not sure if they have answered that yet.
It's kind of stupid to say that the ports are a reason not to preorder this thing. What if a person doesn't already own a PS3 or a 360?
I already have a PS3, but I want to make the Wii U my primary console. Some people may call that stupid, but I get to have my multiplats and my Nintendo games on a single machine (with cable/dish TV as an added bonus). Obviously I don't speak for everyone, but it's a pretty damn good reason for me to preorder one.
@Hatsune-Mike
Guaranteed you already have three devices that play one of those formats and why embed more memory in the console when you can PICK and CHOOSE how much memory you want for the thing?
Perhaps, but does your iPhone have a USB port for a 3TB HDD? No? Didn't think so.
You didn't even answer my question. How's a format change innovative? All formats do is add memory. The 360 uses DVDs yet they still have games that are considered 'innovative.'
As for the PS-Vita crossplay, it may be the same idea as the Wii U, I won't deny that. But don't kid yourself into thinking it will see heavy support. Sony exclusives and maybe a single third party game here or there, but because it's not an out-of-the-box experience like t...
Well, not being incredibly pessimistic about everything Nintendo does probably would have helped.
So how is it a casual console on the grounds that they don't force achievements on developers?
Not if the Wii U continues to sell and the future consoles don't. Compare the early years of the PS3 and 360. Developer support was weak for PS3 because it was a tough machine to make games on and it was not selling as well as Microsoft's console.
Then a few exclusives and some price drops later and the PS3 is doing pretty well for itself. The Wii U is no different. If it and its games sell, then third party support will always be there.
Look at the D...
Don't even bother. The writer supplied so much ignorance and misinformation he made himself look like a politician.
What's sad is if I ever went to a PS4 rumor article and said something like this, I'd receive a ton of disagrees and probably get voted down as a troll.
Because Sony's the only game company that's allowed to exist apparently.
