I assume he means developing the engine over again. The game uses none of the GCN game's assets and all of this is made in a new engine they are also using for the new Zelda U game they are making.
Considering that Nintendo was struggling with development on Wii U (take Pikmin 3 for example), it makes sense that it would take a little time to make it work, even with a remake that essentially provides a cheet sheet for the overall level design of the game.
Oy. The markets are hardly similar. People who buys games on phone generally are not big gamers. Just because phones play games does not mean they are games for big gamers (although I've noticed that some mobile games try to cater to that crowd).
There will always be a market for dedicated gaming devices. The 3DS and PS4 pre-orders have already proven this.
@Mikasa and prodg
Shut up.
@AsimLeonheart
You just compared the mobile industry to gaming. Your argument is so fluttered.
"But what if it does...."
As long as Nintendo makes money, which in case you have not noticed they're actually pretty good at even when things look bleak, then it won't.
Man, these things never have any Shantae love. :/
How about none. Getting rid of any franchise from any company is an abhorrently stupid idea because whether or not I like Mario or Uncharted or Halo, somebody out there is still a fan of those games and it's not fair to take that away from someone.
Bah. Skyward Sword was hardly crap. It made excellent use of the Wii's motion controls and it had a great art style and storyline.
Whether or not it is better than Wind Waker is completely debatable.
@AbortMission
Actually it's a Wii U game. But I'm sure you were just honestly mistaken. After all, no one is that stupid.
Welcome to a new episode of LOL_WUT Logic! Toda'ys goof up...
Complains about fans not supporting Wii U games.
Mocks fans for having optimism for new Nintendo IP.
Also, Mario is a major Nintendo IP. Pikmin is more niche. Even fans acknowledged this, liar.
Compared to what exactly?
Well not everyone shares your opinion. I've played and finished the Last of Us and I'm more than ready for another new IP from Naughty Dog. If not then I'd love for them to at least revisit Jak.
Um. Doesn't this apply to any update on any modern console? My 3DS and PS3 do the same thing.
Yeah. Game after game after game from summer to the end of the year is SO incompetent. /s
Everything before August, I give you. Nintendo's handling has been piss-poor, but I can't understand how anyone can look at their current efforts and still call it lackluster.
@LOL__WUT
'Stop making excuses'? Get off your high horse, you goober. I didn't see you complain when The Last of Us was delayed. What was stopping that game for releasing on time? You're just looking for reasons to complain about Nintendo, as usual.
Edit: As EcoSos3 said, there are plenty of games from other companies that have gotten delayed that don't have any sort of notable nearby releases holding them back. But DK gets delayed for two...
Not that I disagree with your sentiment, but that didn't stop any of the cooperative New Super Mario Bros. games from selling well.
Considering that DK was almost released the same month as Mario, it's really telling how you're incapable of understanding that releasing too much in a short span of time can be just as harmful as releasing nothing at all.
Congrats everyone! I'm sure the game will be superb. Now, back to Shantae. :D
Ah that sounds fine. The new trailer made the game look very stellar (probably the best graphics I've ever seen in a Mario game) so I'm not sure if I want to get it day one or not. The lack of online multiplayer is the largest thing holding me back right now.
Did you play it alone or with friends? Which power-ups did you get to use?
Technically there is an HD trilogy for Sands of Time with Trophy support (I owned it up until I got the trilogy on Steam for like five dollars), but it's just a resolution upscale.
