Cool... maybe this will lead to an anime? Someone made a Ghibli-esque version of Breath of the Wild's intro, and it looked pretty cool - not to mention the success of western shows like Adventure Time, which is basically a really messed-up, bubble-gummed version of Hyrule... Nintendo have said they plan on making movies for their various IPs, so here's hoping for a Zelda in the vain of Miyazaki - as opposed to Pixar, which is what I'm expecting for Mario.
You have no idea how lucky you were... last time I checked, there were just 3 second-hand copies of Lost Odyssey available across all of Australia's EB (Gamestop) stores - none of which were in my state, let-alone my hometown.
A lot of people have been waiting years for this moment... here's hoping Catherine, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, Vanquish, Nier and the rest of the 360's Japanese classics get the BC treatment.
Did you read the article? It wasn't just Hatton - the whole team was put to work on GTAV... Who knows? maybe some of Agent's ideas ended up being used in Los Santos - certainly the FBI/CIA missions had some 'Bond-esque' qualities, and I wouldn't be surprised if the character-switching mechanic was considered for use in the likes of Red Dead, LA Noire or Agent... THAT is a theory - difficult to prove, but I've found Occam's Razor to be a remarkably effective tool fo...
@Bizarro: It also gives many current-gen gamers their first real chance to play cult classics like Alan Wake, Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey and other hard-to-find titles, whose physical versions have since become collectors' items... here's hoping 2017 brings the BC treatment to games such as Catherine, Vanquish and Nier - which is getting a sequel that's all but confirmed to be coming to XO (so long as it doesn't bomb on PS4/PC).
As an Australian, it shames to say that I don't yet own this game - should've bought it before the Black Friday sales emptied my paypal, but my backlog was getting out of hand... regardless, there's a second expansion on the way, which I'm hoping will be a partnership with Targa Tasmania - a statewide event that's basically a real version of the Horizon festival, but with less electronica.
It's a good name - one worth hanging onto in the event that Cold War shenanigans come back into vogue - not to mention the fact that R* and Take-Two could probably afford to trademark half of the English lexicon... but, based on what I've read, the game was abandoned in order to bolster GTAV's production.
edit: Don't believe me? Perhaps you'll believe former Rockstar artist Darren Charles Hatton, who worked at the developer for a year between June 2009-2...
@Darth: believe it or not, that's just a coincidence... I was actually thinking of a friend, who's purchased multiple versions of Minecraft, as well as some 'rare loot cards' for her two sons - I'll never forget how excited those boys were when they got diamond armor for Christmas!
Don't play dumb - you've been here long enough to have read just as many of those sorts of comments as the rest of us... and your request for citation is absurd - what are you, a lawyer?
You realize he's probably the one behind all of these 'unofficial' accounts, right? it's kind of his forté... that and I cannot imagine any of N4G's other XO users would resort to such self-destructive douchebaggery.
Oh $#!t - I think you're right... anyone know what his gamertag is? If so, tell Christopher ASAP... Solidarity be damned - it's been a while since Rookie crossed the Rubicon and he aint comin' back!
I was hoping this would happen... We should try to form a bunch of 4/5 person crews before Sea of Thieves releases - that way we can all meet up and work together as a fleet.
Think about it - we could be first players to beat the Kraken... or we could just rule the seas with a rapey fist.
Either way, Captain Poppinslops and the Booty Boys are open to suggestions... see y'all on the poop deck!
And that's why $3Bil was a bargain... ignoring the fact that people like me will never buy it, Minecraft has kids (or rather, their parents) buying multiple versions for PC, console and mobile devices - not to mention the Telltale series, which appears to have done rather well.
@Gatsu: That was 20 years ago... What's he done for us lately? I mean aside spoiling his legacy with The Phantom Pain (an unfinished exercise in repetition) and Ground Zeroes (the demo with a price-tag)... and don't say 'Revengeance', 'cos that game would have been cancelled were it not for Platinum.
People have already modded their Kinects for similar purposes, though I doubt consumers will see anything like that until 'Project Aquarius'... that said, I suppose it's only a matter of time before miniaturization allows for VR gloves, with dynamic feedback based on in game interactions and individual sensors for each finger - here's hoping they're 'water'proof!
And who said I was here to help? I'm here to post comments and argue their merit.
Regardless, I do have some ideas as to how VR might be improved - namely hand tracking (eliminating the need for Move/Touch style controllers) and voice commands, which would make VR a more believable and immersive experience... here's hoping the Scorpio uses Kinect as it's VR camera.
And? None of that's gonna help VR devs make better games... just sounds like a bunch of pretentious bull$#!t in place of an actual answer.
From the article - 'He said that he hasn’t yet seen anything he “particularly liked”, which makes him want to work on a VR game himself.'
Oh, the irony... I'm sorry, but I didn't get a degree in English to dumb myself down.
You mean the interview I just quoted?
Edit: Yeah, that's what I thought - nothin' but the clicking sound of cowards 'disagreeing'!
Why do they have to be restricted to a single device? Does knowing their games are on PC ruin your experience? Fact is, more sales means more money for games, giveaways and features like this - so long as Microsoft's IPs can't be played on Nintendo or Sony consoles, then they are, by definition, exclusive... either way, I think it's great - I've already roped some of my PC pals into joining my Sea of Thieves crew, and I'm sure they'll be just as keen for State of Decay...
