This is exactly what I want - the screens look perfect and everything in the description sounds great... linking health and powers is an ingenious idea - fights will escalate into bloody frenzies for anyone who can't keep their $h!t together.
Nice to see the RPG systems have some depth - yeah, it's got the usual open-world, loot/craft/level-up stuff, but the 'everybody's food' mechanic is truly unique... why help old Gran find her missing kids when you can...
That was just some old concept art from an environment artist who was working on Agent before being put to work on GTAV... It was good-looking stuff, but he never went back to work on Agent.
R* are obviously doing another Red Dead - it's what the majority of people want and Take-Two have all but confirmed it... Microsoft's backwards-compatible Redemption fumble is the clincher - they're holding it back to use in one of those Quantum Break, GoW, Dark Souls 3 type d...
It's gotta be Red Dead - besides it being the obvious choice for the next R* game, I reckon the recent XO backwards compatibility fumble pretty much seals it... BC Redemption is being held back so it can be included in one of those Quantum Break/Dark Souls/GoW type deals, where pre-ordering the new game gets you a free copy of the franchise's previous entry.
I guess you could get one of those TV dinner trays the old-folks use, but you'd still need the keyboard for interactions (jumping, reloading, praising the sun, etc), which would mean letting go of either the mouse or the controller... it would be okay for simple games, but I can see it becoming a real hassle in games like Battlefield or The Witcher.
Personally, I reckon the Elite is the finest controller ever built - Yeah it's expensive, but you can map the face butto...
Same - I don't think the increased accuracy is worth it when you have to use a keyboard for movement... that, and I prefer a controller's triggers for shooters, racers and such... it feels more natural, especially with the rumble component.
That said, a keyboard and mouse would be perfect for RTS-type games (like Xcom2 - which WILL be ported), and surfing the web will be a lot faster... at the very least, it'll be nice to have the option.
It's reviewing well (85 on Metacritic) and the early-access impressions were overwhelmingly positive... Gamespot did some 'Survival tips' vids, if you're looking for recent footage.
I've been counting down the days to this game's release, only to realise my xbox acccount is 45cents short of the asking price... looks like I'll downloading it tomorrow.
I bought a PC just so I could play the first Witcher game, but I'd have preferred to play it on my tv with my xbox controller... If this is a thing, then I'll use the feature for a bunch of games - Firewatch, the Witness, Fez (console version's unfinished) and Xcom2 come to mind, but there's a stack of older titles I'd like to check out.
I've never played any of the Half Life games, or any of the Final Fantasies and I'd love to try the first Crysis...
I'm buying it for the love of 'Bloodmoney'... I daresay I've put more hours into that game than any other, and that's counting the big, open-world RPGs of today.
I'm buying it 'cause it's the only way to keep the series alive - it's a great series, and this latest entry looks to finally be the perfect blend between Bloodmoney and Absolution... Yeah, Hitman: Absolution had it's flaws, but it also had excellent controls, great AI and a ge...
Yeah, Scarlett Johannsen's voice is hot, but that's gonna end-up being a frustrating experience... personally, I'm saving myself for 'The Crushinator'.
That said, I think a few games have handled love-making reasonably well - The Witcher 2 opens with a nice (though rudely interrupted)'Morning Glory' scene, which sets the tone for Geralt and Triss' relationship... however, the rest of the series does tend towards the sexually ridiculous (RIP Sex...
'The Flame in the Flood' will be out in a few days... it's early-access 'reviews' have been overwhelmingly positive and the latest gameplay vids look great, so I'm counting down the days to the 25th.
As for The Walking Dead - as much as I love Telltale's games, I'm gonna wait for a physical copy... playing Game of Thrones as it released was a frustrating experience (story-wise), plus I'm running out of HDD space.
The Elite isn't just great for FPS games - it's great for fighters, racers and basically any game with camera controls... Quantum Break will map time powers, reloads and other interactions to the face buttons (ABXY), meaning the player has to relinquish camera control whenever they perform said actions - which could be all the time one of the teleporting enemies needs to attack from behind.
Mapping the face buttons to the underside paddles will allow players to main...
For me, it just makes stuff simpler - it turns my xbox on, logs me in, it's great for voice chat, scanning qr codes is easier than typing in numbers and it lets me control my console while I'm eating/drinking/smoking/mastur ba... watching movies.
I could care less about motion controlled gaming, but I would like to see more in-game voice commands - Mass Effect 3 used Kinect as an alternate way of controlling squadmates, eliminating the need to pause during combat... i...
@Gigawatt - I've never played the original Borderlands games, but I'm a fan of Telltale's work, so I download the first episode (which is free) and was very impressed... It's genuinely funny (especially if you're a jerk), has great characters, great music and the gameplay is deeper than your average Telltale experience.
Their art-style is also pretty similar to Borderlands' trademark cel-shaded look and the rickety animations don't seem as unnatu...
I think he means it won't be another Ryse/Order 1886 'graphics-first' kind of game... yeah, it'll have pretty cutscenes, but I imagine the vast majority of the story will be told via the live-action stuff.
I really like this idea - it's kind of like how the Halo games have their live-action/animated spin-offs, but takes the integration to it's logical extreme by having a player's choices affect the show (and vice-versa)... Plus, it's always nic...
I never expected that Red Bull could ever be responsible for anything as thought-provoking as this article... that said, floating pro-Nazi douchebags into space was a pretty great idea - so long as they don't have parachutes (or secret Moon bases).
The Witcher games are high on my list of all-timers, but I love me some hardcore philosophical sci-fi (Blade Runner will always be great and I've recently started watching Ghost in the Shell's prequel series, which is t...
Huzzah!
Here's hoping it runs better than the 360 version as I'd like to have another crack at finishing this game... Those Gargoyles broke me on my first attempt, but this time I'm gonna save all of my bombs especially for them.
More Xbox news - The Division Beta is available to download... dunno if there's been an article about it, so I figured I'd mention it here.
Couldn't you have found a less succinct way to say that? More poorly-written walls of text, if you please.
As to the matter of equal support, Microsoft need to make it abundantly clear that this is a two-way street - in terms of games being ported... if they can start getting some PC exclusive games like XCom 2, Star Wars: The Old Republic, Undertale or The Witcher (the first one) onto Xbox then these enraged fans might start to understand that Microsoft's new appro...
To be fair, both of those games are still in early-access - we still haven't seen any of The Long Dark's Story mode (which seems to be the 'main' game), though it's due to launch around the same time as ARK (June, I believe)... as to the matter of volunteering oneself for consumption - whilst I KNOW there's an afterlife, I'll be damned before I allow some lesser scum to nibble on my bits.
Yeah, the article does eventually make that point, but it's right at the end of a poorly-written rant... Recent Win10-compatible titles like Firewatch, XCom2, The Witness and Undertale will be easier/faster/cheaper to port to Xbox (which also runs Win10 with mouse/keyboard support).
Microsoft will still need to get publishers to agree, but it shouldn't be difficult to do so - the xbox is selling well, it's got a great attach-rate and the odds of making money on a ...
