There are a lot of gamers who buy some games new and some games used. Myself I buy most of my games new, but occasionally I will pick up something used, and I like having this option and feel it is my right as a consumer to chose if I buy something new or used.
Since I don't like having my rights trampled on, I would never buy a gaming system that did not support used games.
I honestly think the idea of blocking used games is foolish and I feel it woul...
I don't think the Wii U ads are bad. They are aimed towards the demographic that Nintendo wants to attract, Kids and families, and I have no doubt that kids will see that ad and want a Wii U, so they get the job done.
I used buy all of Nintendo's systems, but I had a serious problem with the Wii's controller. I gave it a chance, but discovered I hated motion control. I even bought the classic controller thinking that would make things better, but that simply meant fumbling back and forth between the two controllers to a point that I found myself feeling annoyed. It simply was not for me and so I have not touched my Wii in ages.
I will never buy another gaming system that relies he...
Capcom has lost touch with what makes a game good. It isn't pretty cutscenes sandwiched between short insignificant battles on boring linear maps.
All the DLC in the world will not save a terrible game, and just so we are clear... most gamers do not actually like DLC we simply tolerate it, and we do so grudgingly. So if you want to make DLC you better get off your lazy asses and make GOOD DLC, because everytime you release a half assed overpriced DLC package a little of ...
I actually buy less things from the PSN store, simply because it is such a pain in the ass and it honestly takes way too long to do anything. I used to pop on the store just to browse and see what new stuff was available, but now I only use PSN if I know what I am looking for in advance, and even then I dread it.
I can't help but suspect that the current FF team is incapable of making the type of game that old school FF fans are craving. The real talent left years ago, so I highly doubt that Versus will be anything more then another pretty but utterly boring piece of rubbish.
Right now would be a good time for Sony to dig Legend of Dragoon out of their vault and start working on a PS4 sequel.
I think you misread my post, since we seem to be on the same page or perhaps I am mis-understanding you.
You are correct, most 'Survival Horror' games this gen, ie the Silent Hills & Resident Evils, do not feel like true survival horror games, which is why I said they are crap. The games were supposed to fall into the survival horror genre, but they failed, which is my exact problem with them.
As for Alan Wake, I didn't hate that game, but co...
Could be interesting. This gen has been cursed with so many crappy survival horror games that I have pretty much quit buying them, since they always disappoint me, but it would be great if someone could breath some life into this dying genre.
If you don't like N4G, why are you here? Are you lost?
The Wii had WiiWare games which included micro-transactions. The ones that come to mind are the Square-Enix My Life as Prince and My Life as Darklord games, and also that Harvest Moon WiiWare game. So even without EA I wouldn't be surprised to see micro-transactions and even Day 1 DLC pop up on the Wii U.
But as someone who hates the whole micro-transaction thing I do get your point.
Borderlands 2 is actually a good full game even without any DLC. So in that regard I give Gearbox credit.
However the idea of charging an additional $5 to raise the level cap feels kinda shady, even if the season's pass owners get the first level cap free. I simply think it sets a bad precedent, and makes me worry that other game companies will purposely lowball gamers on their level caps in order to sale them as DLC.
I would have preferred they included...
Personally I think the ending was horrible, though the EC slightly improved it, and the Citadal DLC improved it slightly more, I still find it highly disappointing, but I can respect that others may feel differently.
A well deserved award to a stinky game.
Shhhhh, be nice, the man seems to control the BL2 shift codes, so we don't want to upset him. My Zero needs a pair of guns.
ME1 & 2 had interesting villains, ME3 not so much.
TIM was a truly interesting villain, but in the end he was reduced to a confused blubbering fool.
Kai-Leng was a cowardly and annoying guy who looked cool but really wasn't. I remember the first time I saw him I thought 'Wow, now he is interesting', but then he started talking and I thought 'Oh, never mind, he's just a douche'.
The reapers were scary and cool unt...
You do realize that your attitude is just as bad. Plus you are making a lot of assumptions. There is a difference between being poor and being frugal. Just because you have money doesn't mean you shouldn't question how much something cost. Some of the wealthiest people alive are very frugal, which is one of the reason's they hold on to their money.
OptimisticPrime: Seriously, how many stable adults run around telling other people to 'grow the fuck up'? Maybe you need to take your own advice. We have just as much right to our opinion as you do, if you don't like it that is too darn bad.
And I say, the creation of Day 1 DLC stems from lack of knowledge about how to run an ethical & customer friendly business.
Instead of worrying about creating Day 1 DLC, gaming companies should be focusing on giving their customers the bug free and complete Day 1 gaming experience that they have already paid $60 for.
Once you have successfully completed that task you can spend time creating DLC, since you won't need to spend it creating a patch to f...
Here is a link that talks about current gen consoles and energy consumption. So unless the new Xbox is made to consume a lot less energy it is a problem. Maybe the auto standby will help, but still not crazy about the whole idea.

This one has a chart which shows energy use for those who leave the consol...
I want to say I don't care about FF anymore, but the fact that I still click on FF articles proves that a tiny part of me still does.
I actually got FFXIII-2 for free, because I had rewards that were about to expire, and there was nothing else that I wanted in stock. I played it for less then an 1/2 hour, because I simply could not get into it, put it away and have not touched it since. FFXIII was bad, this game was worse.
While I respect that some game...
