Does a professional grade flight simulator have damage?
No, the focus is on FLYING the plane, not CRASHING it. Same thing with a driving simulator. Damage is irrelevant to the actual driving, unless it affects the car's performance (which according to 1st hand accounts, it does, so there is NOTHING to complain about).
My thoughts exactly. The point of Gran Turismo is not to have a gritty race, filled with bumps and smashes...
Ever wonder why Gran Turismo feels so sterile? Because it is a perfect fantasy world for car enthusiasts. You get to drive the best cars in exotic locals (and real world courses of course)... EVERYTHING is perfect. I really feel that GT is nothing more than Yamauchi's vision of a perfect (motoring) world. Damage completely takes away from that, IMO. It's like one of those...
My 60 gig seems like it's on the verge of death. I can't play it for more than half an hour with the fan kicking on to hyperdrive and my load times getting longer, and longer, and longer...
It would nice not to have to worry about that, and the Slim does seem much more efficient (duh!).
It was superb; one of the best games of 08. Nobody cares that you think it is the worst game in the past 10 years, and I'm sure that nobody cares that I think it is one of the best. So, let's shut up about the base game and talk about the DLC:
I am loving this news... Mostly because I have a friend who is a huge 360 fan. Every time I gamed with him, he would rub it in how I could not play the Fallout and GTA DLC. Who's having the last laugh now, b*tch? :p
Yeah, I'm t...
Agh, a month... so... long...
It can't come soon enough, PD really teased us these past two days.
Why are they comparing off-screen footage of actual gameplay to a promo/commercial where some enhancements have most likely been made?
Yeah, it just doesn't work.
You can't even spell my username right...
And don't act like Forza doesn't have variants. A quick glance down the car list and you will see that Forza is just as culpable as Gran Turismo.
Get out of here. Did you even read the fact sheet on GT5's online functionality? Championships, clans, private rooms, YouTube output, etc.
Around 720, I believe. Though I think it may have been a bit more in PAL or some Asian countries due to exclusive cars.
Beat ya to it, Thom. :p
Yep, this doesn't need to be the "definitive" anything... It doesn't need to inundate us with information (although look at what happens when it does!), it doesn't need to give itself silly titles, and it doesn't even need a PR team. It speaks for itself. It's been the King and despite the haters and the impatient, it still will be when it hits stores.
@Deep
It's actually over 800 cars on GT Mobile. :D
Limited release, eh? I bet we'll be seeing a few of these on Ebay. If I were to seriously buy it though, the PSP Go deal is a lot more tempting than this.
Yeah, it's adorable. This is one 'childrens' game that I would be proud to own, haha.
The 20 track different is likely just minor variations.
I'm fairly confident that both will have the same amount of variety of tracks.
And so it begins. Now, instead of seeing 1,000 Slim rumors, we're going to see 1,000 articles of how the Slim is useless.
Great.
Does this mean that only 170 of the cars are going to have interior views like in Prologue (which if true is going to suck because I've become so used to that view that I can't race any other way)?
Not that it matters either way... 1,000 cars... 80 tracks, holy hell.
That's all that needs to be said about this.
Yeah it would be nice, but hey... you gotta take what you can get.
(BTW, the PS Blog seems to have the most detailed liveblog, so far)
Just head over to either the EU Playstation Blog, Eurogamer, or Kotaku for a liveblog.
Not quite as good, but whatever.
I'm actually excited for this, more so than E3!
EA has lots of good stuff to show off, and then immediately afterwards, it's off to Sony's!
That was part of my point in my post above... According to accounts from people who have played it at Gamescom, performance IS affected, so there really isn't anything to complain/worry about.
