The Xbox One is a great console so far. Love the BC. GoW 4 was amazing. Currently playing Lost Odyssey on BC. Forza Horizon 3 is a great open world racer. I'm mainly a PC gamer but the One is good stuff too. Maybe I'll pick up a PS4 Pro soon... would like to play Last of Us and Uncharted 4
Have you ever bought anything second hand?
My God! If they did a 2D, SNES style Metroid, a top-down Zelda (LttP like), a 2D Castlevania and even an old school style Final Fantasy with todays graphics engines I would buy 2 Switch consoles just in case one went out on me! Rebooting all of the great NES and SNES classics, in the classic style, with new graphics engines is my dream for Nintendo. There's no way that, if done right, they wouldn't sell uber millions.
Add: Kid Icarus, Blaster Master, hell even anot...
1080p with decent AA looks amazing on my 55" 4k OLED. Of course native 4k looks quite a bit better, but I've got no problems with a 1080p game done well either on my 4k tv.
No way that they'll add enough games that I would want to play. Case in point? That Mini NES. 30 games from 25 years ago? When you can fit every single game ever made for it on the smallest hard drive made today? Yeah. No thanks... and I know. Licensing issues, legality.... blah, blah, blah... I don't care. That's why emulation is a thing. When they make one of these with 1000 or 3000 games on it, let me know, until then... emulation it is.
Making a top notch AAA title takes an INSANE amount of money whether the hardware is powerful or not. Making underpowered hardware just benefits the maker of that hardware by reducing costs of high end components. I doubt that Betheda, CDPR, Rockstar, Blizzard or any of the true majors are going anywhere... and most of them WANT powerful hardware to realize an amazing world and continue to push boundaries as technology ALWAYS has and ALWAYS will. Nintendo is trying to fight this natural progr...
Started playing Lost Odyssey again for the first time in years! MS is knocking it out of the park w/ this BC imo! Want to go back to Red Dead Redemption as well as I never did complete it. LO runs better than it did on the 360 as well.... For all the hate they get, MS does do some nice stuff...
lol. Have you seen vids of this game? It BARELY looks like it will be 720p with NO AA. It looks pixelated and muddy as hell.
What's the resolution? Gotta be 720p or less from the vids I've seen. Looks muddy as shit. I love Nintendo games, I hate NEW Nintendo hardware. Starting with the Wii, they became terrible at making systems..... and no, I don't care about portability at all. I play my games on a big screen at my house, not on a stupid handheld, so the Switch doesn't interest me at all. Power over portability ftw.
Whether it is equivalent to a $900 PC or not, it is surely a deal at $399. Sony did good with this machine imo. Great performance per dollar
Not to mention, PC games are usually always cheaper than console games, by a lot! Steam sales alone will allow you to save %50-80 off most AAA titles during winter and summer sales, when you add it all up... PC gaming is better if you can afford the up front cost of the hardware.
Both consoles have terrible performance. Only reason I own Xbone is because of exclusives. With the way PC/Steam is gaining ground, I forsee less and less console exclusives in the future simply because there are so many people on Steam now that devs are giving up millions not releasing on PC.... and without exclusives there will literally be no reason for me to ever buy a console again.
You get what you pay for. PS4 or Xbone. They are both WAY behind. Every time I turn off ...
yeah. DS1 needed one small, free file to be installed to run and look 10 times better than consoles did. Only problem was that you have to have an IQ above your shoelace to install it, so console people understandably would have an issue with that. So, DS1 looked better. DS 2 looked and played MUCH better. DS3 will widen the gap by making the console versions look even more terrible and dated. So that leaves us with Souls, the only game not on PC because it's "exclusive". More a...
nah, lol. I own consoles also that collect dust most of the year until one of the very few exclusives comes out that I want to play, then I buy it (and realize how much better of an experience gaming at 4k/60fps is on my PC) Not being a broke ass is great, you should give it a shot some time. I own consoles, they are just terribad. In a just world every game would be available on PC so we wouldn't have to deal with consoles complete inferiority, but sadly nothing is perfect.
Arguing over which console has the best graphics is the gaming equivalent of two bums arguing over which one is richer by counting the pennies in their begging cups. #pcmasterrace
Coming from a PC gamer? I'll tell you what "next gen" SHOULD look like! 1080p/60fps MINIMUM on all games.
1080p has been a common resolution for almost a decade now and we are still having to upscale games to that res? Pathetic. Xbone and Wii U specs are TERRIBLE for 2014 and while the PS4 is the best of the bunch, even it is not as powerful as it should be.
Hell, my 3570k/680 from 2012 are running almost everything 1080/60 and most games I ca...
Steam is the best service in gaming. Bar none. My consoles collect dust at this point while I just hit 250 games on Steam and counting.... once you try it, other game mediums seem inferior and outdated... and those discounts... fuggitabout it. You can save the entire cost of a $1500 PC in just a few months of buying games that are 50-90% off.
Nvidia is ridiculous with allocation of VRAM. Mobile cards getting 6GB while stuck at a res of 1920X1080 and the $700+ 780TI is limited to 3GB.... and 4k TVs/monitors which will use the hell out of VRAM are becoming more and more readily available on the market. What the hell are these people thinking?
Devs showing how out of touch they are with gamers here. Dawn or Aria alone are worth more than every single 3D Castlevania ever made or that ever will be made.
Keep that horrible LoS crap. Give me a full on, 2D, HD sequel to Aria or Dawn and I will purchase day one. I may buy LoS on Steam when it goes down to $2.99, lol
I've always liked the normal Forza series much better than Horizon series. I like the open world idea, but the cars in Horizon handle way too "arcade-y" for me. I like the realistic handling of Forza much better. Forza 6 is the reason I bought an Xbox One originally... it's a really, really good racer but I wish they would bring back the auction house. Also, the career mode was much better in 3 and 4 than in 6.
