.... and the graphics don't look like you are looking through a screen smeared with vaseline at 20fps! Count me in! Boycott terrible Nintendo hardware!

The Wii U sold AMAZINGLY when it was first released also. The first 2-3 months anyways.... then, well, you know...

I own Zelda on the Wii U and it's performance is terrible. Stuttering 20fps at 720p is simply not acceptable in 2017. Graphics matter, Nintendo apologists and they can keep the Switch and it's terrible "mobile gaming". I hope this thing tanks and Nintendo never makes another console. Their hardware is atrocious. 2005 specs for a 2017 machine. Horrid.

Thanks, Nintendo for letting your abysmal hardware ruin what could have easily been GOTY. No game that stu...

Not for me. As a person who has absolutely no interest in gaming on a 6" mobile screen, the Switch represents a completely underpowered home console, with an almost non-existent launch line up. Good luck with this Nintendo. I will get Zelda for the Wii U and likely not pick up a Switch until someone is dumping one on Offer Up or CL for $200 with some games thrown in.

I'm all of those things you listed plus I'm albino and I'm sexually attracted to office furniture, where's MY hero in a video game????

console wars have been going on since the inception of gaming. It will never stop. Ever.

Here's the deal, if you are interested in mobile gaming on a terrible 6" screen, you'll love the Switch. If you want a home console, and don't care about terrible mobile gaming, then the Switch is useless.

Truthfully, they don't need to. Both the PS4 Pro and Xbox Scorpio will be fully capable machines for the next few years, console wise. I am mainly a PC gamer, but the PS4 Pro is a great performer for $399. PC gaming is not without it's hiccups and problems. If you don't want to deal with them (I'm getting rid of SLI as soon as the 1080TI comes out....) then both of these systems will provide enough base level power and a good entry price point.

Not 4k/60fps it won't be. Not at 8TF, especially by then. I'm guessing approx 12-16TF will be needed by 2020 for games to run at 4k/60fps. (every year games get more and more demanding to run at the same res/fps) If you're going for 4k/30fps (yuck) then, I guess so... good luck with that. 60fps should be an industry standard FIRST before resolution is all cases, in every game.

The thing is development costs HAVE risen exponentially over the last 30 years. It will get to the point that only a few really good AAA, huge, open world games will come out a year and they will cost more. I remember buying games for $59.99 in the early 90s! Games cost almost nothing to make then compared to now. Most AAA basic titles are still $59.99. How long do you honestly expect that to last without devs increasing the price somehow? Everyone wants it all, but does not want to pay for i...

My backlog is so huge right now, just on Steam alone (over 400 games... which I know is nothing compared to others...) that, with 95% of huge AAA games, I wait until the "Ultimate edition" or GOTY version of the game comes out, and then wait til that goes on sale. Example. Got Witcher 3 with all DLC and the expansion on Steam for like $25-30. The cost of the expansion itself when it launched. Sure. I'm not playing the buggy, terrible first version of the game on day 1, but, I ge...

This is something Amazon does all the time. Common business practice. Very smart on their part also. Very high demand item, jack the price up to ridiculous levels. Let the people that have to buy everything first at any price lap it up, then drop to normal price when sales slow. Capitalism at it's finest!

Are you kidding? Nintendo would NEVER spend the $$ to spring for hamsters. Their hardware budget calls for 2 snails, MAX.

I bought the Wii U at launch. I will not make that mistake a second time. Nintendo is going to have to PROVE themselves to me over a 6 month to year period that the system is not going to be a horrible failure.... and I have absolutely NO use for mobile gaming, so they are off to a very bad start w/ me as is.

Currently the PS4 is the only system I don't have this gen. I have an Xbox One and a Wii U. I may pick up a PS4 at some point but I'm not sure. Most of my gaming is done on PC. Playing Witcher 3 at 4k/60fps on an OLED is pure glory. Kinda hard to go back to consoles of any sort after seeing those amazing graphics. It would be great if all games were made on PC, then we wouldn't be forced to put up with mediocre hardware and paying for an online service that we already pay for by ...

Newer consoles like the Pro and Scorpio should be targeting 60fps first, then worry about which resolution to hit and upscale. I would rather 1080p checkerboard upscaled to 4k at a solid 60fps than 1800p or 4k at 30fps. Smoothness of visuals is paramount in games imo.

The problem is that upscaling legitimately looks noticeably worse than native resolution. It IS what your eyes see, when you can tell the difference in an image. I guarantee, if you show me a 4k native image and put that side by side with an upscaled 4k image, I will 100% be able to tell the difference. One will have a softer "fuzzy" blur to it. checkerboard upscaling is great if that's all you can manage, but the real deal IS much better and that's just simple fact. Also, d...

Mobile gaming is terrible. No interest in it at all. So, as a home console only, which is all I'm interested in, it is weak as all hell. To high school kids who want to game on a school bus, great. You'll love it. To core gamers who want high fidelity, cutting edge graphics on a home console.... look to PC, PS4 Pro and Scorpio.
