As a longtime PC gamer who is sick and tired of price increases to performance ratios that are becoming out of control, I am very, very interested in the best of what the new consoles have to offer. If they have the foresight to give us 60fps gameplay as an OPTION (I believe every console next gen should at the very least have a 30fps "high res" option and a 60fps "variable framerate" option in ALL games going forward...) in games going forward, then Steam may become my re...
I said "probably" denoting that I am unsure of the actual cost and going on the cheapness of the look. I know, reading is hard. If you ever need me to translate some other tough reads, just let me know....
The Switch lite looks like a child's speak n' spell. The think probably cost $20 to make. Maybe the PS4/Xbone should be $199 by now, but the Switch lite should be $129 at the MOST.
Who games mobile besides school children who can't use the big TV? No thanks. If I'm gaming it's done on my 4k OLED. I'm not squinting at a 6" screen ..... Wake me up when Nintendo makes a QUALITY home console. I feel I'm going to be sleeping for awhile.
Also from same geriatric politician:
Breaking News: Guy runs over 163 pedestrians before getting out of car and blowing it up with rocket launcher. He currently has 4 stars, so the pursuit should be over soon.... unless he uses Wanted level cheat. Thoughts and prayers are with the victims.
Nvidia thinks that people actually care about ray tracing. For me to care about ray tracing, they will have to have full screen ray tracing (like what Quake 2 demo is running) on new games at almost no performance cost.... so, in other words 10 years from now. Ray tracing is WAY, WAY (I can't stress this enough...) WAAAAAAYYYYYY too resource hogging. I am an "fps over everything" person. So, with my 1080TI, the next card I get will have no problem running 4k/max/60+fps on most g...
You are completely wrong. Almost every single ARPG on the market, Diablo 3, Grim Dawn, Van Helsing ect ALL either have a "zoomed out" mode or are inherently zoomed out to proper lengths. Name me one major ARPG that is zoomed WAY in like PoE is where you can't change it other than PoE. I've probably played more RPGs in the last 30 years than you've heard of, son. I started gaming in '84.
I never, ever could get used to that "zoomed in" aspect of PoE. If I have the option, I'm the guy that zooms as far out as possible on the screen. As soon as I saw the view of PoE, I deleted it.
They are a business. Their one goal is to take as much of your cash as humanly possible. I have a small business of my own. My goal with that business is PROFIT! Hate the game, not the players. This life is all about getting that cash so you have more freedom and options.
I just hope that a 60fps mode will be available for all console games next gen. I don't care if the games hit 4k or not. They could do a variable frame rate mode as long as we get a locked 60fps, that is all that matters. I would rather play at 900p/60fps than 4k/30fps all day long...
Randy Pitchford is a pile of human excrement.
Well, it's all about that money. I know mine will NEVER go to the epic store. It's us, the consumer vs the greedy company, vote with your wallets. If you like Steam and want nothing to do with epic, don't buy on that platform, period. Any company that takes away my choices as a consumer because they can't simply make a better platform, doesn't deserve one single cent of my cash.
Much easier to develop mobile microtransaction-fest crappers and rake in that cash. Can't say I blame em. It's all about that money, I'd do the same thing. Who cares what some whiny kids think? Do less work, make more green. Who wants to work harder for less money? Not me.
I may buy it on X1X or wait til Steam... what I absolutely WON'T do, is buy on the Epic Games store. We need to send the message that, as consumers, our money goes where WE want it to go!
It will sell WAY, WAY less than if they had released it on Steam. Like, I'm doubtful that it will sell 40% of what it would have on Steam on the Epic store. We shall see. It's a war, it's us vs the greedy corporation. Let's see who wins! I'm always up for a good battle. I know they won't see one dime of my cash until it's on the platform of my choosing. I don't need Borderlands 3... especially at launch when it has all the bugs. tbh, I can wait for the GOTY edi...
I don't "bitch and moan"... you just don't see my cash until it's on the platform of MY choice. That simple. You need my cash much, much more than I need your game. It's my way or the highway!
Forced 3rd party exclusives. Sorry, I will never, ever support that. Epic, the only way you will EVER see another dollar of mine is when your game comes to Steam. Otherwise it's time to put on the eyepatch like the good ol days. The customer makes the rules, not the greedy company!
Yup. I have a backlog of over 600 games on Steam. I can easily wait or just not purchase at all and be fine. I'm gaming a lot less nowadays anyway, so... yeah. GL Epic. I know you won't be seeing any of my cash! I hope thousands of others follow suit. It's us vs them we'll see who wins.
I have been gaming solid since 1984 and I have never, ever been more disappointed in a game than I was in Mass Effect: Andromeda. The story, the characters, the setting, the "labyrinth dungeons".... everything. They took my favorite franchise of all time and annihilated it. Never forget.
I absolutely loved that game..... right up until all of the QTE event cr ap. If it was just straight action... It would have been one of my favorite Castlevania games ever.... Once I hit a bunch of the QTE.... shelved.
