Crazy that this game is getting the scores it is. Not super low, but lower than I expected. I've only played a few hours so far, but so far I don't agree with these scores. For me the game is even in the GOTY consideration...who knows, maybe as I play it more it will fall out of consideration? So far the game has been really fun for me, but I won't fully dive in until I'm done with Zelda and Wildlands.
It would actually be easier for it to go the other way at this point in time. All MS would have to do would be release Scorpio at the same price as PS4 and take the loss (which MS can afford unlike Sony) and/or higher all the main players at Naughty Dog and start their own studio. Not saying it WILL happen...but that would COMPLETELY hobble PS. Hell MS could BUY Sony. A true gamer wouldn't hope for either of these to happen...it's best for all gamers if MS and Sony (and Nintendo) ...
Maybe read my comments a little more thouroghly. I didn't say that it WAS GOTY, just that it has potential to go in that direction. I know enough about the game to know that it should be mentioned in consideration...not that it IS.
So far I agree with him....I'll have to wait till I play the full game of course, but it's shaping up that way. Halo Wars 2, Wildlands, Sniper Elite 4, and Horizon were really good, Zelda was/is amazing (and is my standing GOTY right now)....and so far Mass Effect looks to take the top spot. Then there is also Prey, State of Decay 2, Crackdown 3 RDR2, and Sea of Thieves...and probably a dozen other games that all look great this year. It really just seems odd to me the cirticism th...
I started seeing the complaints about animations and got really concerned...then I started playing the game. Sure the animations aren't the best, but what it lacks in that area...it more than makes up in others. There have already been a host of great games this year....and based on what I have played so far....Mass Effect looks to be my GOTY with or without better animations....it does everything else THAT well so far. More to the point....if everyone is harping on something THAT mino...
Doesn't have to be a "war" at all...just play both....both are great games. Personally, I prefer Zelda so far, but Horizon was a fantastic game.

Weird...I'm not seeing the same outrage that MS got for making their games available on PC. Sony takes a note from MS and suddently it's not only not a bad idea anymore...now it's good idea. Either way, when I heard this last night it confirmed that I'm selling my PS4 (and Wii U to Gamestop). I'm done with Horizon (which was an excellent game), but the next game I need my PS4 for is Days Gone or God of War....so I might as well sell it and the Wii U back for store cred...
4.5 is about right in my eyes. The game play was great and it was fun although by the end I was ready to be done (probably my own fault cause I needed to rush through it to get to Zelda and Wildlands so I can get to Mass Effect). The story and voice acting wasn't very good though IMO, but not a huge deal for a game like this.

Nah, Horizon was great in the gameplay aspect, but the story blew (except the part about explaining what Gaia was). Even at the end the gameplay started getting a little stale....and some of the ledge climbing got annoying. Overall it was a great game, I was really happy with it, but so far Zelda is shaping up to be the better game of the two.
I agree that the "nostalgia" factor does apply to game reviews, but this gen it seems to be favored towards ANY PS exc...
IMO 7 is WAYYYYY too low for this game. If this game is a 7, then Horizon is a 6....and Horizon should be a 9.
All the comments like this are just proving over and over, that it's not MS lying actually...it's fanboys on the other side SAYING MS promised something that they didn't promise....then failing to meet the fake promise they never actually made. MS has never promised that every game would be Native 4k
...but they AREN'T saying that. Have you not seen the dozens of tweets from Phil Spencer saying it's up to the devs how to use the power? They ARE NOT promising Native 4k on all games.
There's more AAA exclusive games I wanna play on Xbox this year than any of my other consoles...

MS never promised native 4k on all their games though....they said it's up to the devs on how to use the additional power. So there would be no point in throwing a tantrum if not every game is 4k...that was never promised, so don't expect it.

Yeah, I'm taking the reviews with a massive grain of salt...so far what I have seen of the game (albeit it isn't much yet) makes me think I'm really gonna like it. These scores are not in line with what I have expereienced so far.
