Concept wise XV was just as Final Fantasy as they come four warriors of the light on a quest by the king to restore power to their kingdom. The problem with XV was the development cycle was a mess, the game was too ambitious for it's own good. To be honest Tabata was dealt a bad hand and he wasn't the man for the job (his track record shows that)
Honestly, I don't think so. Looking back at his past titles aside from Crisis Core the development cycles for his titles were usually a mess.
If it was trying to be Skyrim or any other openworld wrpg it was a mediocre attempt. FFXV overall world was really bland and lackluster. Let's not get started on quest structure and the boring array of sidequests. I enjoyed FFXV for the most part, nut it was a mess of a game.
It's possible to make a great open world FF title and maintain the franchises charm, but could the current Squre-Enix actually pull it off? Square's track record the past 15 years hasn'...

Get rid of that leveling system. I don't mind the gimmick to catch Pokemon in Let's Go, but I would also like to battle wild Pokemon too.
There's more to it than that. Tabata pretty much got three years to slap something together and release. FFXV was doomed from the get out go.
As a huge MGS fan, The Phantom Pain was a huge disappointment.
A MGS without Kojima or Murata as writers I'll pass
Sometimes it's due to change of art direction and character designers. With RE one it was decided to base Jill off the likeness of a model (Julia Voth). I'm not sure if that was the case for this remake though.
Hyped or not I'll still call out bad art direction and character designs. In the case of Ada her new design looks better... I can't say the same for Mr. X (because of the eyes) and Leon.
New design looks better than her design in the original, 4 and 6.
Nothing wrong with a kid playing videogams here and there as long as you set boundries.
This! I know the series isn't know for strong story telling, but BotW was weak in those aspects compared to previous titles. The way the story is told was pretty lazy. BotW was lacking interesting characters as well (which was odd for a Zelda game)
If that's the case than the game probably isn't any good. In the case if DMC5 a demo would probably boost sales... the game looks great!
