When RPGs first came about they weren't defined by the narratives and characters, but rather elements of progression (lv, class, job, etc)
That's funny considering Far Cry 2 is regarded as the worst title in the series.
Yeah, the skill tree is Horizon is borrowed from games before, but it actually works out for the game. As Pody said there are levels appear above enemies. Instead some of the areas had a recommended level suggestion (mainly for ruins and bandit camps)
Complaining about RPG games that have progression systems? Nier Automata and the Division are both action rpg games.
Do you know how ignorant you sound? How is not a real game the gameplay has more depth than a lot of RPGs coming out.
It looks pretty bland and seems to have the same issues that Lost Sphere and I Am Setsuna had. Bland in design and relies heavily on the nostalgia factor.
Oh well, your loss
Being a PS4 owner I'm jealous of the BC Microsoft added to the XB1 and the upscaling feature on the X is cool as well. PS Now is crap and there's not a lot of PS2 titles available on the ps4 and the library of games is pretty weak.
Like there's so many Western games in the market.
I'll give you that. The way Link/ the player experienced the world around him was impressive (i.e the rather system and physics) but that goes so far. You have this huge beautiful world that still felt empty. Yeah, I can come across some npcs venturing out here and there, but they were so dull (which was odd for a Zelda game.
Outside of the shrines and the shallow sidequest I never felt the need to explore or inclined to do so.
Like I said before It's I personally...
Yes, opinion all those reviews, etc are opinions How you and I felt when playing the game all comes down to opinion.
I guess Aonuma and Fujibayashi were fanboys too right? Considering most the interviews they conducted mentioned the inspiration that was drawn from the Elder Scrolls franchise particularly Skyrim.
I'm not saying BotW is a bad game by any means, but I personally did not have the same experience while exploring it's world. Also a fa...
Last generation that's why. Xenoblade 1 is a gem though and I agree it is one the best JRPGs around (heck its an amazing rpg in general)
Horizon was a good game and it's was gorgeous, but it also didn't do anything different any other open world title.
Dom_Estos:
Dude, no one is down playing how good the game is, but it did the game has control issues same goes for Witcher 3, which I find to be best game this gen.

Typical fanboy BS: He obvious didn't play the game because he doesn't share the same opinion as me. We're in a digital age where you can't really bs about the games you play now. Clocked in 120 hrs so far.
How so? It didn't bring any new to the table.
The game isn't difficult by any means, but it does have control issues (what Rockstar game doesn't though)
As much as I enjoyed BotW I thought it's world was pretty basic. It was nothing more than a colorful Skyrim, but without decent sidequests and interesting npcs (which was odd for a Zelda game considering the past titles always have interesting characters). If it wasn't for the shrines and towers I never felt the need to explore. I never felt immerse in it's world especually compared to RDR2 and the Witcher 3.
Three years that final result was something slapped together within three years and that was the issue. Tabata was assigned to the project and three years to put something together that that was from the remains of Vs. XIII
True. As much I dislike FFXIII the progression on it had more depth FFXV and a lot of RPGs coming out today.
