When there's due to be Sunset Overdrive on Xbox One satisfying, to some extent, the 'Sega' fan (the grinding appears Jet Set Radio-like) the reasons to need a Nintendo console are reduced unless you are massively attached to those particular Nintendo characters or a few of the RPG games they do.

They haven't been able to see the wood for the trees.

It's not really their fault - they're human and they got seduced by the 100 million sales of the Wii.
Well that must be a fond memory. Be very glad of the cash that you got from many millions of non-gamers buying what was to them that year's gimmick.

Sales of Nintendo major TV consoles have diminished with each console ever since the NES, that original Wii anomaly excepted. The grap...

The original Wii killed the WiiU in retrospect. The original Wii decimated the core Nintendo gamers- I suspect that many of us moved on to the PS3. It was the hardware that was the problem and the general cheap casualness of the line up of the games. Even the Miis- they are ridiculously primitive looking. It doesn't help them that they no longer have Rare either. They haven't properly replaced them. Retro Studios are not enough.

If Nintendo had released the WiiU back ...

If you have a PS3 and you want to keep on playing those games, keep your PS3.

If you want to sell your PS3 to make space and get a PS4 yet you still want to play your PS3 games, download the games you want on Playstation Now. Yes it's extra cost but you sold your PS3 anyway (your choice) so you've got money from that.

I would never sell my PS3. And what would be the use in making it redundant but making the PS4 B/C? PS3 owners wouldn't thank Sony-...

Read this tripe : 'There, I’ve said it. We were all thinking it but now I’ve actually said it.'

And you don't think that some of us said it long before you did ThomasTamblyn (of T3.com)? Now YOU'VE actually said it. Oh now I can breathe - SOMEONE has said it. You don't read the forums much do you Thomas? Or you don't quite count their views as quite of equal weight as yours.

I don't care about the rest of your article as a result. ...

The Wii U is not hated.

The problem is that the sales of the original Wii were inflated by the most motley group of console buyers in history. Like curious grandmas who will still be dusting that Wii down in 20 years time. They bought it as an impulse gimmick.

I once said that the core of loyal Nintendo gamers, who will buy any console that they make because they believe in the quality of the games AND hardware (not including handhelds) is probably around 20 ...

But you need Xbox Live 'Gold' to even play Xbox One games online.

Which nearly everyone will want to do if they ever bought it in the first place.

Don't tell me some people bought Gold purely to use the same applications that they could have used for free on a PS3.

So the number of people asking for refunds should be relatively small. Unless they decided that they hate playing multiplayer games of course.

Still, ...

I agree that devs are to blame. If you can't even get Crytek to agree to use it in a deep way on your launch title Ryse then you're setting yourself up to make it irrelevant to gaming. It doesn't matter whether gamers were particularly vocal about wanting Kinect features in games - devs choose to set the tone of what is available in games and every single Xbox One owner would have had a Kinect 2.0 at one point.

"People have been more satisfied with the Xbox 360 than the PS3, so in that respect people have less of a need to upgrade in the short term due to regular updates for the Xbox 360."

Whatever statistics you've been given Yusuf, I really do doubt that what you've said is actually true outside of the limited survey you might be relying on.

The PS3 had The Last of us , Beyond Two Souls and Puppeteer only last year. It's extremely unlikely th...

I'm not going to hear these character assassinations based on partial opinion. Yusuf's helped launched a product that, whilst it understandably has had criticisms, has a great controller and overall build quality. He's demonstrated the product too.

If you want to lay blame, ask who made Julie Larson Green Head of Devices? She was so vague about the Xbox One in the ONE interview she gave.

True- I really hate how so many people go for the very slimmest thinking it superior.

The first slim was the best PS3 in terms of looks if you don't mind not having backwards compatibility.

The later slim is for casuals - cheapskates who don't really mind what their console looks like as long as it plays games.

Because Microsoft said pre-launch that the Kinect was integral to the Xbox One. And even though buyers knew it could be disconnected once it was launched, there's a higher chance that more games would have been made to support Kinect features if it could be guaranteed that every Xbox One sold would include it.

I know it's a subtle, arguably theoretical disadvantage, compared to when they first bought the console but the message (which was essentially made as a kind of...

I know it's scary to think of it but just 1 charismatic person in or near the top reigns of power with all the data and natural instinct to back up their point can change a company policy very quickly. Phil Spencer is such a trusted guy, a gamer.

Do you think that they decided to use the word Rapture in there to appeal to Bioshock fans?

I know it might be an entirely different kind of game but I just doubt that anyone knowledgable in the games industry would use the word Rapture in a title and not know how that could give people a more positive view of the game by word association.

True but most games don't make you out to be a fool for having the supposed stupidity to try to enjoy the whole game.

There's actually nothing I want revived, aside from waiting for the next Uncharted and perhaps Last of Us.

I mean they could always make a sequel to The Unfinished Swan but the concept would no longer be fresh. A spiritual sequel maybe.

No, you can't beat entirely fresh indie games and new franchises at the start of a generation. So I'm looking forward to The Order 1886. And whatever Quantic Dream's next game is.

Microsoft on ...

They've said that they are quite broken up areas so you can't go grinding for absolutely ages. Which might be a shame.

I hope that there is actually some straight forward parkour in the game like the trailer suggested (where he went skidding on a tray). Not just grinding and wall running.

My N4G blog is about how Bioshock makes every player out to be a fool.

Here's the only way how not to be made out to be a fool:

Start of Bioshock:

No choice:

You crash near a lighthouse.

Your choice:

You sit on the steps of the lighthouse and assume that help will come at some point.

You switch off your console.

End of Bioshock.

The whole...

What might put me off this game is if it is too Dead Rising-like. Jet Set Radio 2 is basically what I want from this game.
