I have long been watching Puppeteer with fascination. I haven't been as this interested in playing a 2D game since I played Paper Mario : The Thousand Year Door. But it needs to get a mainstream TV advert like Luigi's Mansion did to show that the quality of the visuals and sounds is of theatrical quality, not mobile phone quality. This kind of magic in culture, let alone videogaming, needs to be applauded.

PS3's never seemed smoother to me. It's more like it's a slightly superior sportscar that occasionally sparkles more brightly but also stalls occasionally due to driver unfamiliarity.

But I still like how Sony choose unusual engines. Remember Silent Hill 3 on the PS2? That was far better looking than could be realistically hoped for from a console that didn't have the Xbox's raw power.

Sony go on about how it's not all about the games ...

Given that Phillips aren't in the videogame console industry now even though they released a console, it could have been the case that Sony wouldn't have been making consoles either. The add on would have been short lived as they always are but then Nintendo, who have been proven to like to do things their own way, may have later developed a console that was more like the Gamecube (proprietary discs), only with 64 bit graphics. Sadly for Sega, even with the PS1 not as competition, I p...

6 games plus extra spin offs is enough for any series. I'm a bit surprised that people seem to be even more dismissive of this game than RE5. Parts of Resident Evil 6 look closer to the older games in terms of the environments than RE4 or RE5. However the demo showed that they throw a lot of enemies at you at the same time in a rather arcade fashion. It should be remembered that Capcom's history was originally in arcade types of games like Streetfighter and they've partly continu...

I love Motorstorm Apocalypse. It doesn't always get a lot of praise from lovers of the first 2 games as they were more difficult and what would actually happen in real life (i.e. not as fun for most humans) and some people had a thing about seeing mud splashing up in the first game rather than the careful depiction of the destruction of a city. Apocalypse saved the series from being a hardcore simulator that didn't appeal to me in to being a fun series.

Putting 'Halo sucks' is fine if it's part of an elegantly written post like you've done. But on its own it would give little evidence that the person who holds such an opinion had any reason to back it up. It's why I'd like the Agreee / Disagree system to be changed or discontinued. the longer a post, the less chance there is that someone can entirely agree with or entirely disgaree with a post. Yet the longer a post is , it's like the bigger the red rag that the p...

Many reviewers gave SSX 90% reviews. It's not worth it. I loved SSX Tricky and I loved 1080 Avalanche in the last generation. This game tries to mix those two and ends up being better than neither as a result. An uncomplementary mix of two different attitude styles- showing off tricks at your leisure and fast as you can racing. I thought that the character models were terrible for this generation.

Or the Crashed Frigate. It's like Red Dwarf - 'Everyone's dead Dave'. It's not particularly enjoyable to make platform leaps underwater but it's the most haunting part of the game for me.

They're right to say this. Uncharted 3 showed you a whole city and then I rightly guessed that it was going to let me experience about 1 percent of it in a bit of a rehash of what Uncharted 2 was like.

The story is mainly the game itself - trial and error, being attacked by everyone else like you're in Lord of the flies or something. It's a beautifully designed game that is really made by something as simple as small changes in lighting. Not a pretentious game either - elegant action interspersed with almost comically brutal deaths (there is dark humour on this game). And the actual ending was beautifully done I thought.

You should play it because it's basically a game like Banjo Kazooie (which is brilliant), only set in space and in first person where you're shooting (apart from morph ball sections). Both have got a lot of platforming and complex level design, a hub world, worlds that lead off it that you can only access at certain times in your progress, your character can attain improved abilities and you have boss battles. With the first game at least, you don't massively have to be a sci-fi f...

The problem with the WiiU is that they didn't call it the Wii2. A lot of people may rightly wonder why Nintendo have, consciously or unconsciously , given the impression of hedging their bets with this name which would technically allow them to announce the Wii2 tomorrow leaving WiiU owners stranded with a dead console overnight.

It could be the first console in console history to jettison a load of potential sales (I reckoned it could have made 60-70 million) with just t...

Beyond Good and Evil 2 (the only one of my choices that is actually on the cards).

Jet Set Radio Future... Future. On Playstation 4 please as Sony players support originality. And I realise you'd have to put it on Xbox too. I know that the other games never sold much but don't release a demo for cheapskates (no pun intended), make a few short episodes (just one would do - use the same old engine if it's too expensive otherwise), charge quite a bit for it to cove...

Have a go on Motorstorm Apocalypse if you've got a PS3 though. Best online fun since Quake 3.

Max Payne? Hello!

I don't want multiplayer if it gives them less time to make the single player look as good as it could - or if it gives them less people to work on Uncharted 4. Mutiplayer is what is expected from Uncharted nowadays but you don't have to bust a gut to put it in all your games. They could release the multiplayer part much later if they really want to include it.

Sorry but it feels to me that the ending of Uncharted 3 may have been compromised. It was like a deja vu of ...

House of The Dead : Overkill is free of charge on Playstation Plus and brilliant. The graphics are a lot more interesting than I thought they'd be for an on-rails game.

With free online, the PS3 is the best value console hands down as long as you don't mind ports that might not be the best.

Of course I'd love to play Super Mario Galaxy and Alan Wake. But for many people who've played those kinds of games in the past anyway, I think you'll ...

Eternal Drakness 2 could sell on the WiiU maybe if Nintendo has enough old school fans left. Personally I switched to the PS3 after the Gamecube because I could see how conservative Nintendo had become.

There's a possibility that there are enough Playstation players who might be interested in Eternal Darkness 2 because if they owned a PS2 they were used to a high number of old school survival horror games.

But I liked the first game for its settings, ...

Similar kinds of Nintendo consoles tend to sell less but anything up to two thirds what their predecessor did.

Approx:
NES 61 million - SNES - 49 million .
N64 32 million. Gamecube 21 million.
Wii 98 million. Wii U - 66 million?

Some may say that the Wii was similar to the Gamecube because it's essentially Gamecube 1.5 but the motion control meant that it actually appealed to a lot more different people - and perhaps didn't app...

I'd love for the PS4 to try to take a gamble with Sega, maybe even some kind of exclusivity. To make a brand new Jet Set Radio game, even if it's just episodic to gauge interest. I still think that Sega are far more important to console line ups than a lot of people realise.
