Elden Ring just makes me excited for what they'll cook up next. Sure, it's the same (much loved) formula at it's core, but it's also massively different in a lot of other ways and packed full of great new ideas.
It's part of the identity of the game that there isn't this choice though. There's many other games to play if people don't like it.
I don't think you've really scratched the surface of the game yet though.
The point is that many people wouldn't be able to resist the choice of selecting an easier mode. Then they'd miss out on a lot of the things that make the game great. If you get to a boss that you can't beat, you're forced into looking into how to beat it. There's always a way, whether it's levelling up more, changing your equipment to suit their weaknesses, or refining your fighting technique/tactics.
Wouldn't be surprised if there's a technical reason they haven't done it. Either that or they're just doing a proper remaster that's taking it's time to perfect.
I don't think it's a case of getting one or the other.
Bluepoint should concentrate on full remakes. Bloodborne just needs a remaster with higher resolution, HDR, and 60fps.
I've amassed a huge 5 hours in two weeks on Elden Ring as I don't have the time to play. So that £40 purchase is going to last me a long time. I wouldn't begin to be able to make a subscription service as they currently stand worthwhile, but then these services will likely evolve in the coming years.
Lol, also definitely not an XB exclusive.
Surely Series X and S should be counted separately?
Sgt_Slaughter what missing content? Are you confused that parts of the city may be quieter than others? The busy places are absolutely packed now and there's loads going on in the city.
They released some of it with the 1.5 patch
700 hours! Nice. Probably just something I just don't notice then.
I don't notice a shimmering. Do you use HDR? Maybe check your max brightness setting isn't set too high. The mid point could be set too high also, making the bright areas seem overly bright.
Did you notice when you go to the edge of the map it says "there's nothing here for you........yet"? Hope they fill in all the blank areas on the map. My Cyberpunk 2020/2077 lore knowledge isn't great, so I'm not sure if it's obvious what these places could be?
Sounds like you haven't actually played it with a comment like that.
What do you mean by shimmering? Didn't really notice any pop in myself, but might be just that I don't notice these things easily.
@Zanoman I don't think there's many who are just fanboys for the games that are exclusive to Playstation. They're all brilliant in their own ways. Not far into Elden Ring myself and loving it already, even though I'm very aware I've barely scratched the surface.
There's exploits in other From Software games that seem a lot easier to pull off than this.
Demon's Souls remake is the easiest I've played. I find Bloodborne and Sekiro the toughest. Dark Souls 3 is probably in the middle somewhere.
