For a multiplayer-focused campaign, I think it has a good campaign with a never-before-seen level of immersion (at least on PC). It's just too much linear with too much QTE (hell, I don't even remember how "I" kill the big bad guy).

However I think it's pretty stupid from DICE to say single player is a training ground while we don't have any piloting mission (which is probably the aspect we all need to be trained the most) and instead we only have a ...

That's not a basejump since you're parachuting from an aircraft...

I hope more multi-plat devs will follow their path, at least until the next-gen of consoles.

When you're saying you're lead developing on x platform, you don't mean which hardware you use to build the game because, as you said, that would always be the PC which wouldn't even be relevant to talk about.
When they're saying "lead platform", they mean FOR which platform they develop first, for which specs, for which one they optimize and then port it to other platforms.

Their signle player is actually decent. I'm pretty much enjoying it, very linear but never seen this level of immersion before.

@egidem

You can do both.

They rather say the SP isn't incredibly good but still decent.

Both trailers haven't been made for the same broadcasting system (TV and internet) so it's not relevant to compare them. TV commercials of games often use live action footage for a wider audience who might not know the game in order to communicate its philosophy whereas trailers on internet are more (not exclusively of course) directed to gamers.
In fact, the BF3 -real- launch trailer is much closer (both are story trailers) to the MW3 launch trailer and surely Activision will...

Wrong comparison, one is a TV launch commercial, the other is the launch trailer. EA released a similar story launch trailer on 21st.

Surely yesterday's BF3 trailer scared Activision's PR division, it's a bit early for the release of a launch trailer (the game's out in 3 weeks whereas launch trailers are usually online a week before the game's release).

They should do transmedia style like Lineage, Assassin's Creed II's prologue with Ezio's father, not an adaptation.

Why would they care, they don't make movies. Microsoft & Sony are not in competition outisde of gaming.

I wonder if the texture pack is enabled in these shots...

They use their dollars to pay hollywood actors and to have their trailers broadcasted during football matches.

It's kinda a rip-off of Call of Duty XP set in a reality show.
