They're saying that it couldn't have been made on PS3.
Please no. Skyrim sucks.
I don't want a Tomb Raider RPG.
It looks very god on last gen consoles.
chizzy201: There are things that are different in the next-gen versions that aren't even in the PC version on the highest setting. So there IS a reason to compare them, but as for the resolution, it's not as important as people make it out to be.
What I want is better lighting and physics... the resolution doesn't matter as much to me.
Heck, I think GTA V looks fantastic at 720p. Would it look great at 1080p? Of course, but 720p doesn't look B...
GameStop wouldn't sell me a copy today. Ugh.
Shut up.
Most HDTVs are only 1080p so that would be a huge waste to make a PS4 game at that resolution.
You have to pay $1 per frame.
SOOO EXCITED FOR INFAMOUS! Favorite series from the PS3 and I'm sure to love Second Son!
I can't wait!
That's what I hate about 60fps. Unless they can keep it 60fps ALL THE TIME, it's going to appear to stutter more when it can't hit exactly 60.
When a game is 30fps and drops a frame here and there, it's not as noticeable. Also, with Triple Buffering the frame rate will only drop by 1 or 2 frames such as 29, 28 etc.
I think this unlocked frame rate idea is a bad idea all around.
I've said it before. 30fps constant is way be...
ShwankyShpanky: I never said either of them were good. I would rather see a stable 30fps or 60fps. Anything in between is bad.
I can't say I like either of them. I guess if I had to choose (and had both consoles), I'd choose the PS4 version because from the sounds of it, the frame rate is more consistent in the 60fps range whereas the XBox One version runs at 30-45 range.
I don't think it looks that impressive. Looks slightly above last gen, but nowhere near NEXT gen.
Yeah, I get that, but when a game is that fluid, it's just a constant reminder that it's a video game.
When a game uses cinematic story telling and camera angles, 30fps looks better TO ME.
However, if it's a sports game or timing game... 60fps is a must (for that extra precision).
However, I'm fine with 30fps and with good post processing motion blur, you wouldn't even be able to tell the difference between 30 and 60. Just...
I hope they release more adventure games rather than first person shooters. I'm really getting tired of first person shooters. They're ALL THE SAME!
FRAME DROPS ARE ALWAYS BAD.
Consistency makes a difference.
If it's 60fps 100% of the time, it's nice, but if it bounces around, it results in judder and that's ugly.
I can take 30fps or 60fps, but anything in between sucks.
JohnnyTower: I actually agree with you on this. 30 divides evenly into 60 which will mean that you have a steady framerate. However, 45 doesn't divide evenly into 60, so you'll see some unique frames, and some duplicate frames resulting in tiny pauses (or judder/stutter) that would've been smooth as silk at a solid 30fps.
logan: You can't compare frame rate to the speed of a vehicle.
The frames have to sync up with the refresh rate of your dis...
I must be the only person in the world that is not bothered and sometimes actually prefer 30 frames per second.
60fps takes away the cinematic quality of the game.
If Uncharted ran at 60fps, it wouldn't have looked as good to me.
Don't fall for this guys!
Every big game last gen was "maxing" out the systems. Optimizing makes all the difference.
You can max out the PS4 by writing a really sloppy pong game. It doesn't mean that there isn't room for further optimizations.
@R2oB: I'm turning away from the PS4 version specifically because I have a PS4 and not an XBox One.
Also, I already have the game on PS3 and it looks and plays fantastic on it.
I guess people don't know what judder is, so I'll explain it.
If the frames per second does not divide evenly into the refresh of the monitor, it has to make up for those missing frames by duplicating some of them which will make the image appear jumpy or stuttery.
For example. If you have a 60Hz monitor (most people do), you'll see 1 frame per screen refresh at a time. That would be 60fps. In a 30fps game, you'll see each frame twice, which w...
Clever title.
