Spider-Man will most likely be released later fall 2017. Sony have been using Spider-Man and god of war clips in their tv advertisements for months now so I don't see them not release by years end. Spider-Man doesn't need to release in the summer along side the movie because it's a standalone story in its own universe with no ties to the film.

I do think square with try to get either kingdom hearts 3 or FF7R by years end but who knows which one.

The generation gap between 6 and 7 I think is what makes it so divided among players. PlayStation 1 from Super Nintendo was a huge leap in technology. Take that away and 6 holds up really well. Personally 4 is my favorite but I know I'm usually alone on that.

I don't know where people get this idea that turn based RPGs can't be done on modern day consoles. Especially when you are talking visuals. For their time seeing a summons or advanced magic spell get cast in all the old final fantasy games were always epic, cinematic and beautiful. It was always so rewarding to watch a summoned creature come flying out of the sky or erupting from the ground. I'd love to see those cinematically on a modern console. I would also recommend playing the Resident Evil Remake asap if you never have before. It really holds up well. Even though the controls have always felt strange it actually adds to the tension in a good way.

Didn't double dragon neon kind of crash and burn? I played it all of 5 minutes and I loved double dragon as a kid. If anything they should have made a full blown god of war style current gen brawler that utilized new tech. If this fails we may never see the double dragon name attached to a game again.

In some way she the remake looks a lot like ff15 but re skinned with ff7 characters. All I know is that I would have loved a true ff7 remake with the original turn based combat. No need to reinvent the wheel on this one. Just make it beautiful and have the story be as engaging. Leave everything else alone.

I don't mind paying to play them first but when Im an early adopter and the game sits in my backlog until the ultimate everything edition is marked down to 10 bucks before I even play it is when I start to get bummed out.

I also initially disliked 5 and 6 a lot the first time around but I'm currently playing thru the whole series again and am on 5 right now and have found a whole new appreciation for it. Playing them all close together instead of years apart has given me a new appreciation for the entire story as well. As a former movie collector from VHS to Blu-ray I truly feel that physical media has come to an end and don't blame sony at all for not including a UHD drive. They also gave metal gear 5 a perfect 10 while spending what seemed like half the review talking about where the game is dissapointing. On the other end gamespot poo poos on a lot of popular and great games in what seems like just a reason to be different and all hipsterish.

If it was 25 years it wouldn't be a western anymore. It be closer to world war 2. There's cars and roads in rdr. Judging by that picture I'm thinking it will be more like gta5 with different characters to switch from or maybe even more of a create your character thing. Yeah I just got this years Samsung flagship tv 65 inch 4K HDR tv for 2 thousand. Well worth it. I've seen good 4K tvs for cheaper than I paid for my Samsung 46 inch HD tv just 6 years ago. 4ks are about as common now as HD tvs were when the PS3 came out and especially when x-box 360 came out.

I wish FMV would make a comeback maybe in the indie sector but integrated in better ways than it was 20 something years ago.

I might be alone on this but I think Spider-Man would make an awesome PlayStation VR game. Using the move wands as web shooters and swinging around a virtual New York City sounds amazing in theory anyway. I'm sure the motion sickness aspect would take some getting used to but if done right and have some creative boss battles, it could set the bar for what VR is all about.

I am such a Zelda nerd that like you I will buy every new Nintendo console just for that and Metroid and to a lesser extent Mario.

Yes to everything you just said! Ghosts maps were so bad I pretty much took that year off from the series.

Wish they would have made Black Flag its own franchise instead of a ac game. Would love to play more games like that.

Gree with this to an extent and I'm pretty neutral on this whole remaster thing or the most part but to me the one thing that makes this gens remasters and last gen is the fact that last gen things were being converted to HD just like Blu Ray is HD and DVD is standard def. there's a huge difference in standard def and HD but not so much when the biggest difference is going from 720 to 1080.

Weird that capcom is releasing them in backwards order. I've been wanting to replay the whole series in order but they aren't making it easy. Apparently a full remake of RE2 is coming at the end of the year so really the story order is all messed up. And when do we get 3 and code Veronica? The only 2 I never played.
