@Baka-akaB: I trust browser even less than any place I log in. I never store passwords on firefox or any other browser, I type them every time. Heck, I sometimes clear all information when I quit browsing. All browsers have a lot of security flaws so storing passwords on browser has very high risk.

Those graphical differences are in reality so tiny that it would 0 effect on score, even graphics score. People never stare at still shots while playing and while playing nobody notices difference between 360 and PS3. They are pretty much identical. At least if frame rate and screen tearing, which are a lot more important issues that those tiny differences in stills, are same. The only bigger difference between versions is Steam and that PC version. That might make 0.1 more to PS3 score.

@dasteru: Pandora as fast as NGP? You probably have never seen Pandora's specs. Pandora isn't even nearly as fast as NGP, it can't even reach 3DS. NGP is around 5 times faster than Pandora, if you examine specs more carefully. Especially GPU is very slow. Sure, screen might have sharp resolution but that doesn't have anything to do with power.

@smashman: It really is that low number or somewhere close that number. There are thousands of games (yes, every week dozens of games are released) released every year so even 1-2% means dozens of games goes over 1 million. But for most games even 100k is considered a success. Only few games need anything near 1 million to be considered a success.

The truth is that handhelds are selling more everywhere, not just Japan. For example DS has sold a lot more than any home console in USA (yes, even Wii). Handhelds may not replace home consoles but handhelds are already a bigger gaming market.

Yes Finland means nothing but considering that both France and especially Germany has bigger populations than UK and game sales are not much smaller in France or Germany (according to some Germany is even bigger market than UK). About 70-80% of the european game sales are outside UK. Which is good when less than 10% of europeans live in UK.

Nintendo doesn't sell 3D TV's so they aren't as interested in using 3D in home consoles as in handhelds. With a handheld everyone can use 3D and it increases sales a lot while with home consoles only tiny minority can use 3D (probably around 0.1% of the households have 3D TV right now) and sale increase due to 3D is pretty much nonexistant.

Nintendo said after showing 3DS that they would probably do 3D in home consoles after 3D TV's are in more than 30% of the...

If they would have to pay for testers, then games would have higher budgets or they would have to remove something from games. In the end, gamers pay testers, not developers/publishers because they would have to make profit from games (nobody wants to make games which don't make money). If there would be voluntary testers then games might end up costing less for normal people.

@DWeezy: That is not possible. Wii was released in UK 3 months BEFORE Playstation 3 (Wii was released december 2006 and PS3 march 2007). So Wii couldn't have beaten PS3 as a fastest selling console after PS3 release.

That doesn't explain why regular PSP still sells over 10 times more than PSP Go. In Japan PSP sells more than PS3 and almost everyone still buys regular PSP over PSP Go. It looks almost like that PSP Go was never released there.

Review are pretty much meaningless to sales. If a western game would get 40/40 score, it would have almost exactly same sales as when it has 20/40 score. Japanese just don't care about western games, no matter what magazines tell them. Even GoW 3 got 38/40 in Famitsu and it still flopped in Japan.

Generally speaking, review scores don't have nearly as big influence on sales as some people think.

It has already been confirmed that 3DS is completely new system (and name is just a codename which is probably changed before launch). It is just as much a revision of DS as PS2 is a revision of PS1.

@ColdFire: But you probably look your PC from around 3 feet distance. You would need over 50" inch screen if you watch TV from 8 feet distance to see the same difference between 720p and 1080p. 22" screen from 3 feet is exactly the same as 44" TV from 6 feet distance.

@1.12: MS never wanted neither HD-DVD nor Blu-ray to win. They didn't advertise HD-DVD a lot and never integrated it to 360. Heck, they never even planned to integrate it to 360. They talked about DD long before HD-DVD came.

You have to remember that MS didn't create HD-DVD, it was created entirely by Toshiba. MS supported HD-DVD but even support from MS was bad (all they did was add-on peripheral and even that wasn't advertised much). I doubt they used a lot of money to support...

When broken console is replaced with new console under warranty, it can't be counted as sold or shipped console. Only actually bought consoles (by retailers or customers) can be counted as sold consoles. It would be illegal to count replacement consoles as sold in financial reports. So I doubt actual amount of working consoles is only 20-25 million.

Japanese just have different taste but it doesn't mean your taste is any better. There is no "bad" or "good" taste, they are just different opinions.

I'm a PS3 owner and I have no interest in buying GOW3. I played demo but I hated it. To me, GOW3 is just another mindless button-smasher with bad plot. And I hate button-smashers. Sure, it has great graphics but that doesn't mean anything to me. I play games for fun and if the game isn't fun, then it isn't good....

But no other manufacturer in the world can sell OS X with their PC's because Apple has never given licenses to anyone other manufacturer. Actually, EULA clearly states that installing OS X to any non-Apple hardware is illegal. It works on PC, but it doesn't make it legal.

Blizzard have supported Mac with every game for last 15 years. So they aren't "re-opening support" because they have always supported Mac.

That is probably just to annoy pirates. Non-patched game would be glitched and almost unplayable on purpose and patch fixes those problems (most at least). And patch is only available from Blizzard. Off course, online wouldn't work with unpatched version. Pirated version would be terrible while real buyers would have better game. That is the only logical explanation I know.

Because XBox is fine but 360 is probably worst console ever made (at least original version). If a console can't last at least 5 years without breaking down (IMO 5 years should be a minimum for a console) then it is just a piece crap.

Btw. PS3, Wii and 360 CPU's are all designed by IBM so if 360 is like power mac then so are Wii and PS3.
