Which games? Most higher end PC games only require 1 GB Video Ram, some even less. For example GTA V requires 1 GB Video Ram. I think there is now exactly 0 games which require 4 GB Video Ram.
Arguing about which site is anti-playstation is just laughable. You have to prove that those sites are anti-playstation. Also, you are blind and naive if you don't believe that Sony uses just as much or even more money to buy critics. Heck, Sony moneyhats exclusives all the time but you just don't believe. There is no difference between Sony and MS, both have exactly same dirty tactics.
And if you think that for example game which has 900p on X1 and 1080p on PS4 woul...
Well, Daggerfall had map size of 62394 sq. miles. So that game was technically dozens of times bigger than all of those combined.
Elder Scrolls Daggerfall (Elder Scrolls II) had huge world, area was even bigger than UK, but sequels (Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim) were much smaller. Actually, Daggerfall was also much bigger than Skyrim, Fallout 4 and Witcher 3 combined. And there are even bigger games such as Elite series. You could easily make huge games but making interesting content for everything is much more difficult.
If game had all content and is ready at launch, it wouldn't need any DLC. DLC is only needed when either developers are greedy or game wasn't ready at launch. Most DLC could have been released with the game, not separately. And I have played Red Dead Redemption, Fallout and Bioshock and have not bought DLC for any of them. I liked those games but felt that I didn't need to buy DLC. I have only played DLC when I have played GOTY edition (where earlier DLC comes with the game) and e...
There are dozens of film series which are bigger than Mad Max. Heck, even latest film wasn't that huge hit. Sure, it made some profit but it isn't in top 10 of the year even now and after year has past, not even in top 20 movies. Neither worldwide nor in the USA. Heck, Mission Impossible is destroying Mad Max at box office and even MI isn't huge.
And "cult following" means small but loyal fanbase. That doesn't mean it would sell a lot of games. Mad M...
Actually, he never said 4 mil would be enough. I fact, he said even at the start that actual would be at least 20 mil. He just would have asked rest of the money from publishers which would have been convinced after reaching 4 mil. This is actually said originally, than 4 mill is just enough to get game started WITH other financers providing rest of the money. This applies to pretty much every other big Kickstarter game. Even though they only collect 1 million, actual budget is a lot more tha...
A lot of people wanting all of these features are not pirates. You can buy legal digital movies or music on internet, you know? I have a lot MP3 music and digital movies (completely legal) and I would also want to play CD:s, DVD:s etc. Right now, PS4 is missing so much that it isn't worth buying to me. There aren't even that many games, and almost all of them ports, so there is no hurry buying PS4.
@jwm2: People complain because for example as a media player PS3 is much better than PS4. Even after this update it is still so. People complain because a lot of people used PS3 as media player and PS4 is still completely worthless as media player. Heck, for a lot of people PS3 is still a lot better than PS4. So I understand completely those complaints.
And probably some people say that Sony has promised those and those features for PS4. I don't trust big companies at all...
@Mouktouk: Retailers don't send unsold games back to publishers. Just like with all other products in stores, retailers buy products from producers and those items which they can't sell at full price ends up in bargain bins. Publishers end up with excess stock because they have produced too many games and retailers never even order them from publisher. Even these copies of E.T. were probably never in stores.
I don't mind about HD remasters, a lot of people haven't played those games before. For example I have bought a lot of "regular" HD remasters on PS3 because I never had PS2 (actually PS3 is first console I have ever owned). And I know several other people too, who have PS3 but didn't have any gaming consoles before.
And you forgot that GTA games have always been released on PC few months and at most 1 year after console release (I have played GTA games m...
Not really, The Last of Us and GTA5 are just ports so sales aren't as huge as some expect and because of that there is a lot of room for all of them.
Most people having PS3 version won't buy PS4 version even if they would have PS4. Only very few people buy same game twice at full price or even at lower cost. I wouldn't because both games won't be much better on PS4. Sure, they look a bit better but gameplay would be exactly same as before. I would be surprise...
If Titanfall would be released on PS4, install base would at minimum 10 million at that time. So it would even need to sell even to 1/5 of the install base at that time to get 2 million sold. And games sell for many years, I've bought several games years after they are released. It is even completely possible to have a game which sells 10 million copies even though it is released when install base is just 3 million.
XGamer: So people thought about Mass Effect also when it was released. Titanfall IP isn't owned by MS so there is a big chance that sequel goes to other consoles too. There is even a possibility that first one goes to PS4. Unless MS is prepared to pay minimum 200 million for exclusivity.
Anyway, Titanfall may not be a flop but it is definitely a big disappointment. It is already certain that Titanfall won't become nearly as big as Halo or even Gears.
Install is so quick because most of data is probably run from the disc, not just because game is short. GZ might be short game but definitely not that short.
ArchangelMike: You could have a game with no glitches, very playable, coherent experience and it has some replayability and still be one of worst games ever made. Those factors don't put any game above 7, if game itself is pure crap. While some games with all those problems are very good games.
Gaming is all about having fun and if don't feel entertained while gaming, that game is simply a bad game. No matter how good graphics etc it has.
Preorder numbers are completely useless statistic. If you have a platform with a lot of games, people just don't preorder any games. Why preorder when you can easily have games without preordering?
With X1 there is completely different situation, there are few games so people preorder to have something to play when it is released. Which is why console platform with few games and low install base always has higher preorder numbers but actual game sales are much lower than...
Windows is also a MS platform so obviously they want to release games on Windows too. Because Windows 8 has disappointing sales they want to boost sales of Windows with games. We have to remember that most MS profits comes from Windows and Office and console sales (and anything else MS does) profits are tiny compared to those two.
X1 currently still has very few games so naturally there are a lot of preorders. Most X360 owners probably just wait until release. PC gamers rarely preorder because most PC game sales are digital downloads. PC gamers don't buy much retail games anymore. I am also a PC gamer and I haven't bought any games from stores in years.
Preorders are pretty much useless statistics nowadays. I actually doubt it ever was useful. Most people have never preordered anything. At leas...
@jmc8888: Actually, most gamers don't even own a console and console gaming market is tiny compared to mobile gaming market. You and some other gamers may not want to on the go but most people actually want to. Mobile gaming market is where the money is, not in home consoles. It doesn't matter whether you like it or not but that's how it is.
And about VR... Most people think VR is a gimmick just like 3D movies and games (which is why nobody cares about 3D anymor...
